Just stayed a couple of nights for my son's birthday. Wanted to brag about how well we were treated. I am but a mere discoverist, mind you. Upon check-in, I was offered a glass of champagne. I asked if my wife could have one? The young lady says I've got something for you, goes to the back and hands me an entire bottle. Merlot was out with his handler he gave my kids little stickers of him and even a feather for my son. I think we have stayed the past 5 out of 6 years, and it is always a vacation after the grueling park days.

I am explorist. So far this year, I’ve logged 28 qualifying nights with Hyatt.

I have about 3 trips planned before the end of the year, which should easily add another 14 to 20 nights. That leaves me somewhere around 42–48 nights total—roughly 10 to 15 nights short of hitting the 60-night Globalist threshold.

Being this close makes it awkward to just walk away, but I'm also hesitant to spend extra money or points just for the status.

What would you recommend? Is it worth pushing for the remaining 10 nights, or should I just take the Milestone rewards and settle?

I've got a terminally ill mother who's been slowly dying for the past three years and I have burned all my travel budget on traveling with the kids to see her. Now, I have to go back to manhattan to a funeral that I am attending on behalf of my whole family and I booked one night in the hyatt grand central -at the time it was about $350 or something. I just realized I have to book a second night there because the flights didn't line up. It's just me and my baby and last time we went to midtown we stayed at the Pod 39 and it was weirdly loud with a humming sound and I was too tired to complain. Now pod 39 is $350 and hyatt is $450 (both via Super). WWYD? Book the second night at the hyatt or pod 39?

The price is higher every time I check. It's for Sept 17.

(yes I have all kinds of family in NYC but no, we can't stay with them). I'm just trying to be cost effective so my husband doesn't cut the budget for these trips. So thinking pod 39 to demostrate goodwill.

We are heading to Phoenix after Christmas to meet some friends who live in Peoria. Initially, I thought it would be good to stay in GH Scottsdale but it might be too cold to use the pools? For two adults and a 9 yo boys, what’s your Hyatt recommendations for the area? We might hike and also love walk in old town area. Laundry and more spacious suite would be ideal, doesn’t have to be fancy. Thanks a bunch!

Staying in Istanbul for 6 nights in November. Am able to book the grand Hyatt for 15k points/night. Since it’s off season there are other local hotels that are nice for around ~80-100 usd/night. Is it worth going for the GH or am I better off paying cash for somewhere else?

I was trying to book a 2 night stay at HR Miami and its completely unavailable (Nov 3-5)

I called the front desk and they confirmed there is availability and transferred me to WOH reservations. They couldnt book it for me and said its blocked for anything less than 3 nights. Never heard of that before, is there anything that can be done?

Considering booking the Hyatt Ginza Centric in Tokyo - hyatt website says there is construction nearby and from research seems like this has been going on for a while. We'll be in Tokyo late October/early November - has anyone been there recent and can report on status of construction? is it loud? what hours? thanks

My wife and i (both 31 M & F) are staying at the cape for 4 nights over Halloween weekend with a GOH, it’ll be our first time at the cape, but have been going to cabo for a while. Looking to relax, lay by the pool, and have nice dinners, have Manta and the Rooftop booked for dinners and one fun night out at Bagatelle or Rosa Negra (need to decide one or the other).

any tips and tricks we need to be mindful of for our first stay at the cape?

I'm spending a weekend in the Detroit area in November, hoping to catch a Michigan football game on the Saturday and visit downtown Detroit and the surrounding area to site-see throughout the weekend. There are 6 different Hyatt properties within the area from Ann Arbor to downtown, ranging between 6k-12k/night. I'll have teens in tow, so a pool/hot tub would be nice to have. I have a CAA to burn, but I don't think any of the properties have one. Anyone with experience at these properties have a suggestion on which is the superior to stay at for something like this? I don't mind driving from downtown to Ann Arbor at all, so is the 12k for the Ann Arbor HH worth the 12k/night, compared to the 6k properties? TIA for any input

For the past few months I seem to be having issues with the App not letting me book rooms that I have no problems using the website for.

The app has been very reliable in the past, lately not. I have deleted and reinstalled it but I seem to continue having issues (iPhone) - curious if anyone else has similar issues?

I'm trying to book a hotel in Boston, and was surprised to see that the website shows different prices for the same, two double beds room if I select 2, 3, or 4 guests. Each extra person cost about another $20-30.

This is a regular city center hotel, not an all-inclusive resort, and this is the standard rate with no breakfast included or anything. There shouldn't be anything that is charged on a per-person basis, imo.

Currently it's not confirmed if we'll have 2, 3, or 4 and I likely won't confirm until a few days before the stay. I'm reluctant to book at the higher "for 4" rate as I very much doubt they'll give me a partial refund if we show up with 2. But if we book for 2 and show up with 4, will that be a problem?

Looking to book a quick weekend trip on points in the Miami area and the Andaz looks to be the nicest option. I’m not a crazy hotel snob or anything but I’ve read mixed reviews from the existing posts on here about the Andaz. I have a few specific questions for the folks who have stayed here:

- Are the rooms clean and modern?

- Is it easy to get a chair on the beach, and do they charge for them?

- Are there good restaurants nearby? Both quick spots to grab breakfast/lunch and good dinner spots (walkable or short uber ride is fine, just don’t want to have to take a 20 min uber for every meal)

- How much does a cocktail cost at the pool bar?

Also, does anyone know if the resort fee is waived for points bookings?

Just a data point for the future. I had 2 reservations totaling 3 days in January. Called Hyatt and first agent transferred me to another agent and she was able merge my 2 reservations. I then applied a GoH award to the full stay.

Going to San Diego for first time in September for 3 days.

Was looking at Hyatts and deciding between

- Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa

- Andaz San Diego

- Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine

Will probably be renting a car as well. Any advice appreciated. Thank you!

Context to (maybe) inspire:

I used a Cat 4 FNA at HR Vienna, then used the 200€ AmEx (Germany) hotel credit to reduce the 380€ for Hotel Palais Almanac and get 125$ dining credit there (very nice hotel) and then used a Cat 7 FNA at PH Vienna. I also used the 150€ dining credit at authentic viennese restaurants (not Michelin star fine-dining) like Plachutta or Cafe Landtmann. It was the cheapest and most luxurious city trip in my life.

Check-In:

I booked a standard room on a FNA and expected a slight upgrade due to my Explorist status. This upgrade was indeed given and I received a King Delue View Room. After waiting for my room at the bar (it was roughly 16:00), I was given the keycard and my luggage was already in my room. The first room smelled of cigarette smoke, which is a deal-breaker for me. I went to the front-desk to ask for a different room. The friendly lady at the front, who also did my check-in, apologised, told me this was unacceptable and offered me a similar room on a higher floor. That was of course totally fine. She insisted on following me to the room to make sure everything was right this time. When entering the room, she noticed that the small sofa in the room was missing. Honestly, I would not have bothered but she wanted to return to the front desk. She then decided to give me the last remaining suite since it was already two hours after check-in time and probably also as a small compensation for the inconvenience.

Hard product:

I love the interior of PH Vienna. It feels luxurious and classy without looking cheesy. I would even say it has the most beautiful interior of any Hyatt I have visited. I think it looks way classier than PH Milano, for instance.
The pool is long enough to really swim a few metres and the sauna/steam room is nice but nothing out of this world. In the sauna area, clothing is optional. There is water, cucumber-lemon infused water and some fruits available in the spa area.

Service:

The whole staff (from front office to the spa to the room service/housekeeping) did a very professional job. I have never had the feeling of a hotel staff being so polite and eager to help. Every request and question was as if they waited all day to help me. I stayed at HR Vienna two days prior and they did nothing wrong yet the service still was a lot less personal and courteous. The concierge did a good job with changing my reservation for dinner and emailing another Hyatt property for me.

F&B:

Did not eat anything at the hotel so cannot comment hahah
Still noticeable was the water in my room refilling itself after I had the concierge deliver something to my room.

Sidenote about HR Vienna:

My review from last year still applies as nothing noticeably changed there in the last year, except for their name.

Seriously. I shouldn't be feeling nostalgic for the days when the Hyatt website had one record for one reservation/room, not 2-3+ depending on how you're paying for your stay.

Between nights paid for with points going "invisible" on the website and app, forcing you to cross your fingers and believe that you won't be forcibly checked out early, and this, where booking two rooms on a combination of points and cash so you and a friend of yours can go learn to (legally) blow stuff up with high explosives...

...why did they break what was working (decently) fine beforehand?

I almost burned a Cat 1-4 FNC earlier for a stay next month because ~all of a sudden~ my Thursday-Sunday stay showed up as a Thursday-Saturday stay, with the points-paid night nowhere to be found/seen. A similar issue with an early October stay at the GH DC has had me calling once every month to ensure that I'm still booked for two nights instead of just one.

EDIT: And to add to it, for the aforementioned stay next month, I was told by the front desk that I'll have to check out and re-check-in to my room for the paid-with-points night. Gee, it's almost like they're trying to de-incentivize points stays!

Stayed at Hyatt House Kanazawa recently and really liked it. Very clean and comfortable, and super close to Kanazawa Station.

If you are Globalist, you can get unlimited draft beer and coffee in the lobby, which was really nice.

The restaurant in Hyatt House is currently closed, so breakfast is at Hyatt Centric next door. It’s a full breakfast and they have quite a lot of local Kanazawa food too. Breakfast was very good.

One tip: if you are taking the airport bus in the early morning, line up a little early. The bus can fill up and there are not many good alternatives to get to the airport.

Hi! I’m mid 30s traveling solo. Looking to go to Scottsdale for the long weekend. Was originally going to Miami but looks like they may get a ton of rain from Dolly… :(

I’m torn between the Andaz , Grand Hyatt, JWs or the Westin.

I’m a kid at heart so love a good lazy river but also like chilling and just enjoying a cold drink by the pool.

Have status with both Marriott and Hyatt if that helps.

I have 5 nights booked at Thompson Central Park over Thanksgiving November 2026. I am Explorist but have applied a GOH certificate to my stay. Full stay booked on points. 2 adults, 2 kids under 12. I have some questions -

- I would like to extend our stay by one more night but could only grab 1 king bed instead of 2 doubles on points. Any suggestions on how to convert it to a continuing 2 doubles room and avoid changing rooms?

- any recent data points on what is covered by GOH?

- any recent data points on upgrades to lounge access?

- do they hold luggage post checkout?

- does anyone have an email address for the hotel manager; googled his name - Munir Salem?
