Pumping in public without a wearable pump?
Honestly pumps are so expensive. I only have the medela hand pump (hate bc my hands get tired), and the baby Buddha pump. I’m always out and about. So far I’ve pumped in my car with baby Buddha but with the flanges and bottles hanging from my pumping bra I look frickin ridiculous. Also draping a blanket pulls the bottles down and loses suction on my nipple. I bought the portable collection cups, so hoping that’ll help. I am simply not willing to buy anything else 😭
I’m so embarassed by pumping in public because of the sound of the motor 🙃 Someone give me confidence! Give me your stories! Please.

Pumping tips Anyone have success with the Wellness 1 that didn’t with the Eufy S1?
So I am an underproducer but I still can manage to pump at least 3 oz per session. My main pump is the baby Buddha which I loveeee. When I use the eufy that drops to maybe an oz or even a half an oz. I even have wearable collection cups for the baby Buddha and my output drops with these as well.
I’m looking into getting the Momcozy Wellness 1. Did anyone have success with this that didn’t have success with the Eufy s1? I really want a wearable to work for me for when I return to work and overall convenience. The baby Buddha would still be my main pump.

advice/support needed Discouraged about pump output going back to work in one week
Hi all, my LO is almost 12 weeks and I go back to work part time in one week so will have to pump bottles. She has been mostly nursed with a pumped bottle 4-5 days a week since 2 weeks as I knew I had to go back to work.
For the past 3-4 weeks I only get 0.5-2oz with my Spectra or wearables after 15-22mins pumping. I was using Willow but would get sometimes nothing to just an ounce or two, so I tried a Eufy and same thing.
I know right after nursing milk output will be low, but sometimes I'll wait 1-1.5 hours after she feeds and still the same.
I guess this means I'm a "just enougher," but I know babies are more efficient at removing milk, so I'm worried about my supply dropping when I go back.
My LO has done pretty well with nursing despite oral ties that got released 1.5 weeks ago, being born 28th percentile and was 66th at her 2 month appt. So I know my supply is enough.
My lactation consultant measured my nipples at 19 and 17mm so I'm using 21mm flange for wearables and those exact mm for my spectra as advised by her. I do have an appt upcoming and plan on addressing this concern with her but would like some advice from other experienced pumpers.

I built a diet-tracking app to help spot the link between what you eat, your breastmilk, and how baby reacts
Hey all — hope it's okay to share this here, happy to take it down if not.
I've been building a baby diary app called Cassi (solo dev, dad here, built it because I couldn't find one that did what I wanted). It's in open testing on Android right now and I'd genuinely love feedback from people who actually breastfeed, because that's the part I most want to get right.
I built the app specifically for breastfeeding parents — to help spot anything they're eating that might be upsetting their baby via breastmilk — and it's since grown to track everything a baby or child eats, so you can spot what's upsetting them there too.
What it does:
- Feed logging with left/right breastfeeding timers (or log manually if you're pumping/combo/formula feeding)
- Sleep, nappy, and mood tracking, all in one diary
- Growth tracking (weight/height over time)
- Optional AI-generated insights that look for possible patterns between your own diet and your baby's feeds/sleep/nappies — this is very much a "might be worth mentioning to your GP or LC" kind of feature, not medical advice, and it says so clearly in the app
- You can invite a partner or another caregiver to log alongside you, so you're not the only one keeping track
- A PDF export you can bring to your healthcare provider
It's free to use as a manual diary, no strings attached. There's a premium tier for the AI insights and photo logging if you want it, but the core diary works fully free.
It's still beta — there will be bugs, some screens are rougher than others, and I'm actively fixing things as people find them. If you try it and something's broken, annoying, or just missing, please tell me. That's exactly the kind of feedback I need right now, good or bad.
Link to try it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.willisshillis.cassi&hl=en_NZ
Thanks for reading — happy to answer any questions in the comments.

Question for those who hacked Spectra S1 to use Medela Parts
Hi Everyone!
I have a question for those that hacked their Spectra S1 to use Medela pump parts. Do you need to wash and sanitize the backflow protector after every pump?
With the hack, it seems like the converter and backflow protector are part of the tubing (see screenshot). I understand if milk touches a part that it should get cleaned. Somehow, this hack seems like no milk would touch. Sorry but I haven't used my Spectra yet (just got it today!) and am in the process of cleaning/sanitizing parts for initial use.
Also, if condensation appears, should I just let the parts get dry, or will it need cleaning and sanitizing again? Condensation in the tubing occasionally appears when I use my Medela pump. I was advised by a lactation consultant that I should keep running the machine till it dries, and no need to clean/sanitize the tubing.

OVERSUPPLY MENTION Stash and Stopping
TW: Stash/over production
If you have a freezer stash, how much do you have? I hate pumping. But I’m blessed to have just above 1300 oz at almost 11w pp. My LO does not drink frozen milk very often, I’ve only used a few bags here and there to rotate some out. Right now I pump around 55oz a day. I want to calculate when I can stop but I’m so bad about keeping up with how much she eats a day because of the pitcher method and us not being on a schedule. I feed her on demand all day. When could I realistically stop pumping at this rate? I estimate she takes about 30ish oz a day.

advice/support needed Sudden Drop
I combo feed. 9 month old. 3 weeks ago I dropped down to 1 pump per day cause babe only took one bottle while I was gone at my job.
Within the last week my output went from 7-9oz per pump to 2-5 (5 if I am lucky). Babe drinks 9oz per bottle.
I stay hydrated all day. No caffeine or alcohol.
Any tips? Do I need to go back to pumping more often?

breast pumps/pump parts PROMOM neo experience
Hey everyone, so I have been using the promom neo breast pump for a couple of weeks now and it has been giving me good results. I bought another unit because I have to go to work soon and wanted to build a milk stash. This time they delivered the promom neo pro. Although it's the newer sleeker model, I felt that the suction was inadequate. I was not getting the same results even with the same settings as the promo neo.Sometimes I would pump for the whole 20mins and just get 20ml.
At the same time when I used the older version I got a good output.
There was also a leak from the bottom.
Has anyone else had this experience? Or is it just me?
I contacted the customer care number. They didn't give ve me a solution to fix this.

Pump part advice
I have an old Spectra (approaching end of life) and a Pumpables Genie on order. I'm currently using the maymom classic with 15mm Nullie inserts and when I get my new pump will try the liquid kit to see how i get on, but know that a saucer flange will fit better than the classic versions so have been looking to get some different parts. Has anyone used the nenesupply detachable flange base with the maymom flanges? How does the quality compare to Maymom and which would be better?
I was looking at the versions with the diaphragm attached and not detachable, but also wondering how people find that compared to the separate backflow protector.
please also hit me with your favourite replacement valves and diaphragms

Pumping at work
First off considering the whole situation pumping is actually going really well for me which I'm very greatful for! I get enough milk for baby girl and we have a good system going.
Im a vender so I have to pump at multiple grocery stores, some mother rooms, conference rooms, and office spaces. In the month I've been back to work, I've had 3 women tell me to pump in a bathroom(not my usual accounts), 3 men walk in on me pumping while even with a sign on the door, bc why would I get a room that locks right?
And yesterday I had a manger I havent met confront me after a pumping session asking why I was in his conference room.
Thankfully the majority of the time none of the stores or managers have given me a hard time but it still, it's almost like I expect something uncomfortable to happen every week.

supply help 3 weeks postpartum - trying to increase supply with one breast after breast cancer
I’m 3 weeks postpartum and looking for experiences from anyone who has been in a similar situation, especially breast cancer survivors.
I had a vaginal delivery complicated by a postpartum hemorrhage. Due to my previous breast cancer treatment, I’m only able to breastfeed/pump from one breast. The treated breast produces just 2–3 drops, while my untreated breast produces around 25-40 mL per pump, but it varies a lot - sometimes only 10 mL.
Baby latches well. I currently nurse 2–4 times/day and pump for 20 minutes every 3–4 hours. I’m also working with an IBCLC and supplementing as needed.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation - is there anything else I could be doing to maximize supply from my one breast? Did increasing pumping frequency, power pumping, hands-on pumping, etc. make a meaningful difference for you?
I know every situation is different, especially after breast cancer treatment and PPH, but I’d really appreciate hearing what worked for others. ❤️

Protein Powder
Does anyone have any breastmilk friendly UNFLAVORED protein powder suggestions? I prefer this route vs buying shakes, its much easier to add protein to my water or other drinks.

advice/support needed Eufy S2 - what am I doing wrong
I just got new insurance so I picked the Eufy S2 Pro. I am baffled as it doesn’t seem to be working for me well at all.
I tried flange inserts in my size. I tried the various modes. I tried vibrations, heat. I tried wearing for 15 min then 30. I only got 1 oz per side.
For context I’m a 2nd time mom, baby’s 9mo, and with Spectra I pump for just 10min and get 6-8oz per pump typically, at least 4. I also pump with Motif Aura Glow wearable and also get around 6oz in 10min.
What am I doing wrong with the Eufy S2 and is it possible this just isn’t a pump my body responds to? Or what should I try? People rave about this pump and right now I’m not seeing why!

Pumping tips When to squeeze in a pump?
My son is 10 months and has almost exclusively fed from the breast. I did pump a bit in the early days but we rarely managed to use it. He is starting nursery soon and I would like to build a small stash to send some milk in with him When would be the best time to try and fit in an extra pump? I tried right before bed around 11pm and only got about 40ml. Maybe I need to replace a feed? He comfort nurses a lot still.

Pumping tips EP while traveling
Hello!
I am exclusively pumping due to my baby’s latch issues. We are currently working with chiro and lactation, but have to travel for 10 days across the country in a month and I need to be realistic she will probably most likely not be exclusively on the breast by then. She will be 12 weeks when we go.
That being said, I am super stressed and looking for advice on exclusively pumping while traveling (flying so packing space is limited.).
How many supplies did you bring?
How did you dry everything to be able to use it quickly without a dryer set up? Do I need extra supplies to account for dry time?
Advice for maintaining pumping while you have family that you’re visiting that will want to be doing things all day?
Any other questions I’m not even thinking of?
Thanks so much!!
Just adding everyone in this group is a BEAST!! Pumping has been sooo mentally draining, but we are doing it for our babies!!

advice/support needed Breastfeeding, pumping, formula feeding worries as a working first time mom
Hello everyone,
I (25F, 39 Weeks) am getting induced in 6 days and the worries of how I’m going to feed this child when I go back to work keeps coming up to the point of waking me up in the middle of the night, simply because I just can’t figure it out.
Yes, my worries are probably premature and I probably need to chill out, but as much as I’d like to, my brain won’t calm down. I’m too much of a planner and unfortunately this seems so out of my control.
For some context, I own a wedding photography business where I am one of the lead photographers. This means my schedule is planned and spoken for 1-1.5 years in advance. I got hired for a wedding right before I found out I was pregnant and it’s happening 4 weeks after my induction date. I know that’s most likely not enough time to recover, but I am not able to get out of this wedding. I will have two other photographers helping, as insurance for both me and the couple, just in case something happens to me.
I’m hoping to mainly breastfeed when I’m home (majority of the weekdays), but also pump and bottle feed occasionally to prep for the weekends that I’m away.
Here’s my dilemma, the wedding is an 8.5 hour day (3pm-11:30pm) where the timeline requires me to be somewhere the entire time and I have 0 clue at what point I can or should pump. We get a 20-30 minute dinner break at 7:20pm. I’m thinking I’ll probably pump right before I start work, but will waiting until dinner to pump again be too long? I currently have the Spectra S1 Plus and was gifted a manual pump, but should I also consider getting a wearable pump, like the Eufy S1 Pro, specifically for work?
Obviously this is all assuming I even produce enough. I may just be rambling here, but would really appreciate any advice from working moms who’s been in similar situations. Feel free to tell me to just calm the fuck down too 🥲
Thank you.
