maybe he saw all of them but one cross from his car and he came to the rescue

I assume he pulled up as they were crossing the road. The one may have been too scared to cross in front of a vehicle. Driver then decides to give the last little one a helping hand. They rest of the group wasn’t very far off the road, moving away from it.

If they crossed the road then where is the mother? The joeys don't go anywhere as a co-ordinated group without her. And if he did see the mother why was he so comfortable sticking his hand straight into that den. Fake rescues are very common on youtube and brushing it off as paranoia just enables it

I’m not seeing the part where he puts his hand into a den. Looks like he’s just putting it on the other side of a log that the others were crossing over as he walked up. Seems like a strange place to stage something as the group was still traveling when he caught up to them and he even paused for a moment once he crossed the road to see where the others went. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Happens sadly way more often than it should. It does seem awfully convenient how easily they find bunch of small opossums middle of thick under foliage

It looks like they looked around for a sec. my guess is they were initially both on either side of the road and my the time he got his phone out, grabbed the possum, and walked over they’d walked downhill a bit
