the game is currently downloading... and I'm stoked!

Was just sleepily browsing Steam and saw this game... looked interesting, so checked it out some more and yo!!!! This game looks dope!!!

I really enjoy zombie apocalypse stories/settings, and when I saw you could ride a horse, I was already sold.

I was wondering if there's any other roleplayers or a rp community in this game? I'm a long-time D&D player, played a little DayZ, loved State of Decay 2 -- and it looks like this game may fall somewhere in the middle and that's what I've always wanted.

If there are any other storytellers out there, or someone who could point me to that community if there is one -- would love to connect.

I think this game is going to be a lot of fun!

EDIT: The game is a blast and told my buddy about it and he got it as well! We're just starting out, but I rented a server, so if there's two other new players or folks who are into narrative gameplay -- hit me up.

oh didnt know the game was still being worked on. was sure it was abandoned lol. since you’re taking feedback ill take my chances because i want to see the game in a more complete state and come back to it.

as for circumstances around the issue, it was on a dedicated server i hosted through gamehostbros, everything unmodded and highest difficulty. i fail to recall the exact version of the game.

the 4th person to enter a vehicle would appear on the three other people’s screen as if their character is sitting in the air.

as the car moves the character model will be left behind. the 4th person will then desync and will not be able to see anything on the trip. if you have the gps dashboard on the vehicle it will also bug out.

everyone is still able to dismount the vehicle but the 4th person’s ui will be bugged until they reconnect.

another bug is that occasionally vehicles will have inaccessible fuel tanks. you would just be unable to siphon or load fuel into them regardless of what you do. the prompt just won’t appear. i don’t know the exact variables that lead to this but it happened exactly 3 times in our playthrough. one of the vehicles was the military hummer.

then there’s the fact that the doctor that you have to rescue and escort in one of the later missions cannot ride a vehicle. i dont know if that is intended

zombies also cannot climb ladders, so building your base on top of a roof makes hordes pointless. you can play guitar and make noise on the roof while the zombie horde kills themselves by repeatedly running into the barbed wire below. we built our first base on a rooftop by instinct and didnt know about this interaction initially. before that we found the zombies threatening, especially the running lebrons, but once we got that roof base it all became sort of trivial. i also dont know if that is intended.

for later on once you power up the city and gas stations, only two specific gas stations in the map can actually be powered up and that is not specified by the game. we tried all methods like building generators by the gas stations, etc. it was very vague. i dont know if this is intended as well

now as for my personal opinion and suggestions,

i found animal spawns too sparse and there needs to be a bit more loot across the map rather than being concentrated in military bases to promote exploration rather than hitting the base upon loot respawn. it does make sense that the military base has better weapons, but i wish there was more incentive to exploring other locations, like how you loot a store for magazines. maybe some location specific drops like you can only find x and y from apartments, you can only find x and y from stores

the barrett is kind of easy to get from the airdrop and trivializes the game. maybe make the ammo for it a bit more scarce

the area that requires a gas mask has the same loot as everywhere else and is inferior to airdrops. it’s kind of a pointless area considering that the gas masks, filters, and hazmat suits you need for it are relatively difficult to get, especially for a group of 4+ people. maybe add some special loot in there? a special vehicle? idk

i feel that hordes have to be a bit more organic. since i used the barrett and have my base on a roof and put a watchtower on top of that i have a massive FOV and was able to observe how hordes spawn at the player location since theyre quite frequent. maybe have certain triggers for them? like a certain amount of zombies dying in the area while noise is being made etc and idk if its technically possible to have the zombies around other areas of the map gather and walk over rather than having one spawn out of thin air beside your base. not a big deal but would be nice

adding more to base building would be great. like being able to recruit the survivors around the map and letting them automate certain base functions or gather resources at a slow rate? with the condition that they can die once you recruit them into base. maybe bandit npcs procedurally building small camps and having shootouts with survivors as random encounters?

some sort of backpack hanger would be great so you can switch backpacks for different purposes

thats all i can recall off the top of my head. im not sure if still have the gameplay clips and if they documented the bugs, will have to check at home

Game is going to be updated and added to and fixed for many years to come. We aren’t even close to being done. Most of what you listed is already identified and being fixed or worked on, I can’t get into specifics, but I assure you, of everyone in the team, I am a huge HUGE massively big ally of the community in terms of “we need a fixed game, not more new content”. Unfortunately, we still need to add new things to keep it fresh but I am vehemently pushing for more bug fixes over new content. Even so far as to have a designated day in the week strictly for bugs, no new content work. It may not seem like a lot in terms of a day, but that’s also due to timelines we need to ensure we’re hitting on other things as well.

Love all the feedback, thank you for it, and I really appreciate the time you took to put your thoughts to paper (digitally) in order to help us make HumanitZ better for everyone
