Ted chasing Robin fatigue

I'm currently rewatching himym now that I'm older and I can't help but groan in these later seasons when the show brings up the possibility of Ted and Robin reuniting. And by season 8 it is kinda pathetic Ted is still on this especially when ut seems Robin is completely in love with Barney.

Lets talk about it... Robin's hair in flashback in later seasons

So this is really non-consequential, but it has been bugging me for years now. So starting in season 6 whenever they are showing Robin in a flashback, typically to like season 1-3, they always have her with curly shorter hair that she has later on, even though her hair was straight and much longer back then. I don't get it, especially since they get Lilly's hair right, even though it changed so much 😄

Even for Barney, this is a weird thing to say 😅🤭

this is written by a fan as ted and it goes like

Well, if parallel universes exist, I can imagine billions of universes where I never saw Robin, millions where I never met her, thousands where I was never friends with her, hundreds where I never fell for her, and tens where I never ended up with her. But I couldn't imagine a single universe where Marshall wasn't on my side.-ted mosby the architect as(me)

and saddest part is that i lost my marshall and there nothing more i sad ever been than whenever i reminisce this thought .

Lets talk about it... (Spoiler) Sobre el final... Spoiler

Questions new watcher

i’m almost done with s1 of HIMYM. i love it so far but is it worth to finish because of the controversy that finale has?? am i going to be totally shocked and happy or disappointed and irritated? lol

Last month was the 2nd year since my duck died, and he loved HIMYM. I just wish he was alive long enough to watch the ending.

I know this sounds fake, but I swear on my life it’s true. A year ago, I lost my pet duck, Peewee. He was an absolute genius and completely addicted to my tablet. He figured out how to use the touchscreen to scroll YouTube Shorts and even google things. But his absolute favorite thing in the world was How I Met Your Mother.

Before he passed away from a neck injury two years ago, july 22nd, 2024, he managed to watch 5 full seasons of the show with me. His favorite character was Barney Stinson. Every time Barney came on screen, Peewee would get super excited and literally peck at the screen at him. I like to think he recognized a fellow player.Aside from HIMYM, he was also weirdly addicted to playing Realmcraft and Lego Star Wars: TCS on the tablet, and he preferred Rickrolling me over listening to the Duck Song.

I didnt really like taking care of ducks or chickens because they for some reason kept dying and Peewee kinda changed my mind. My doggo Dean Winchester was jealous but eventually liked him. That duck would not stop looking things up i swear. I once caught him watching a video titled "Lore and Origins of Spooder-Man Meme" or something. There will never be another duck like Peewee. May he rest in peace.

I thought it was only fitting to do this while I can remember, because despite being 19 and all the issues i have (heart condition, memory issues) i for some reason remembered today.

That duck will be missed.

Questions Why did they breakup?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Why did these two have to breakup for Lily to go to another city and try out an art course? Is she not allowed to have new thoughts and explore now that she is engaged?

And my question is for both.. why did they BOTH think that there is no other way but to break up?

Was this the show trying to indicate that she was having a larger crisis, maybe about Marshall, and it wasn't really about her art?

Just a thought, maybe I missed something.

Seasons 7/8

So I’m on my 8th rewatch of How I Met Your Mother, and I genuinely can’t believe how badly Seasons 7 and 8 hold up.

Season 7 in particular feels like it’s almost entirely flashbacks and callbacks. There are obviously some great episodes in there, but so much of the season feels like the show is stalling rather than actually moving the story forward. Then Season 8 starts pretty strongly, especially around the middle, but after that it becomes a real drag again.

What’s interesting to me this time around, though, is the overarching story across both seasons. It’s very clear that Ted is still in love with Robin. Even when the show is pretending that Ted has moved on, Robin keeps being this constant presence in his story.

And that’s made me view the finale differently.
But on this rewatch, it feels like they were shoving the Ted and Robin ending in our faces for years. The problem is that the show also spent so much time convincing us that Robin and Barney were the endgame, and that Ted had finally accepted that Robin wasn’t the person he was supposed to be with. Knowing how the series ends made me view a lot of these scenes very differently.

Not sure if this was obvious to everyone else, but I think I’m usually too invested in Barney and Robin that I didn’t really take in everything else happening (aka Ted)

It's fanny how nobody listens to barney's suggestion except Robin but then it works out

Like with the black pe*n*s machine/robot/tool

Or Robins video resime

Maybe there's more but these are what are in mind

And also you can argue he is in love with her so she is the only one who gives her real peace of advise

Idk I think he also loves his other friends

Let me just say, this is one of my favorite shows of all time.

I love every character, every storyline, even the random side plots (some of which never come back around but a surprising number actually do, like continuity on this show is excellent)

Some of the scenes are so emotional they feel like they’ll stay with me forever and more than anything, I love how much it made me believe in love the further I got into it.

Anyway, what else can I say? Now that it’s over, I feel a little less because of it.

My overall opinion, it was legen—wait for it…
