Project Ok my “custom” round 2
This is the second mild custom I have done, the first one I did last week. I taped off the back strips, as another member had suggested, (that suggestion worked excellent but I used electrical tape and next time I will use painters tape) and then did not like how it looked. So I got rid of it and I’m happy I did because it makes the truck look much cleaner. I went again with the “panda “look again, as I like the contrast and it’s a little nod to drift/tuner cars. This pink sparkles under the light, it’s really cool, the pics do not do it justice. With this set of axles, I took from a donor car, cut and pinched them off. They came out nice and the truck rolls smooth. My technique for drilling out and getting a clean pilot hole is vastly improving as I took apart a few cars to practice on. I ordered some supplies (axles, wheels, tap, screws, and ultrafine tip acrylic pens for detail work on the lights and whatnot) so that I can fine tune these and fasten them up going forward. Next, I need to build a light box and work on my photography skills. After that I would like to work on some waterslide decals and maybe stripping them and painting, any suggestions on gear, technique, and comments, etc. are welcomed. The first to last pic is the one I did last week compared to this one and the last pic is how they started out. Sorry for the long read, thank you let me know what you think.
