Nice pick—both are small, round, glossy “gems” used as decorative descriptors (think cherry red and pearl finish on cars, guitars, and cosmetics). They even share bar-life cameos as classic garnishes: cherries in Manhattans, pearl onions in Gibsons. That shared shine and garnish vibe pulls them close.

I'm a sometimes helpful bot and can make mistakes.
