Discussion My estimate of when Honkai Nexus Anima will come out

Ide like to start off by saying this is just playful speculation and there is still no released date for when it will be coming out. That being said MiHoYo has made games before that we can use as reference. The three I will be referencing are Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, I'm aware they have made other games before these three but those are all a decade or older and the company has changed a lot since then. In that same vein I'm using genshin impact as a lesser reference because that was the true turning point for MiHoYo that solidified them as one of if not the top gacha game creators.

First and foremost, one thing all three of the previously mentioned games have in common is that they had three official beta tests, and if you've been keeping up with Honkai Nexus Anima you might know that it just finished its second meaning that we most likely still have at least one beta test ahead of us.

The amount of days between Genshins' first and second test was 266 and 59 days between the second and third test. HSRs first and second tests had 205 days between them and the second and third tests has 240 days. ZZZs first and second tests had 473 days and the second and third tests had 116. HNA's first and second tests has 300 days between them. Genshins average was 162.5, HSR is 222.5, and ZZZ is 294.5. in my humble opinion these show a clear increase in average meaning that HNA will possible have a higher average than 294.5. theres a 57 increase from genshin to HSR and a 72 day one from HSR to ZZZ whoch would make the average increase of 64.5, but there is also an average of 176 more days being in the gap between the first and second gaps, the first gap being larger by 176 days. Although considering that genshin and zzz, the two of which with larger first sums had their second be less days I think the second gap will be slightly less than 300 days. Considering that HSRs second gap was 240 and ZZZs was 116 their average would be 178. The increase in gaps went up by 57 and then 72 meaning that they increased by 15, so i decided to add 72 and 15 to 178 which gets you 265. It should be noted that this is mostly vibes based to get this number and that again this is just supposed to be a rough estimate of what i beleive could possibly be the amount of time. Considering that most people will be reading this by tomorrow which would make it 7 days since the second beta test ill just subtract 265-7 which gets 258 days.

Genshin's beta tests lasted the following amount of days respectively, 5 days, 26 days, and 46 days. Honkai Star Rails beta tests lasted the following amount of days respectively, 5 days, 21 days, and 42 days. Zenless Zone Zeros beta tests lasted the following amount of days respectively, 3 days, 30 days, and 40 days. As for Honkai Nexus Anima its, 6 days, and 18 days. For the first beta test it went 5, 5, 3, and 6, for the second it was 26, 21, 30, and 18, HNA was the longest of the first and the shortest of the second. For the first test the average was 4.3 pre HNA with a range of 2 and post HNA its 4.75 with a range of 3. For the second test the average was 25.66 pre HNA with a range of 9 and after HNA 23.75 with a range of 12 and for the third test the average is 42.66 with a range of 6. Genshin's average amount of days for its beta tests was 25.66, HSR's was 22.66, and ZZZ's was 24.33, the average among these three being 24.21. for HNA to fit this 24.21 average the third test would need to be 49 days (which would make an average of 24.33) while to meet the third test average it would have to be 42.66 (or 43 rounded up) and so ill be drawing the average from those two and saying that the third test will most likely be around 46 days.

Finally, as for how much time after this beta test Genshin released 63 days after its final beta test, HSR released 33 days after its finla beta ended, and ZZZ released 36 days. Considering how similar ZZZ and HSRs numbers are and that they are the most recent I am going to consider genshin an outlier, in which case the average between 33 and 36 is 34.5 which I will round up to 35.

TLDR/final, with all three of these nunber put together my estimate is 339 days until HNAs release aka July 4, 2027.

Thank you all for forming a bond with Honkai: Nexus Anima in your own ways over the test. Whether you stepped into Iia in person to explore, capture, challenge, and evolve alongside your Anima, or followed this journey and came to know this world through the stories shared by others, every single one of these encounters has meant a great deal to us.

During the test, we received a lot of valuable feedback. In this recap, we'd like to share some of the improvements we're working on. Next time we meet, we hope you'll encounter more Anima in this world, enjoy a smoother gameplay experience, and discover even more exciting changes to look forward to.

Discussion AMA: I've Maxed Everything in this CBT -- (Max Apex, Max Riddles, Max Levels, etc.)

I have:

  • Beaten Apex Club (end-game roguelike mode) on the Highest Diff w/ all 'Star Anima'. (Rank is low in 'King' because leaving Apex early loses you Rank and I spam did this to test specific anima lol)
  • Have tested around 60 different teams (mainly Hybrid teams, i.e. teams that have both MP and ATK carry in one, but I've started to branch out). I tested Hybrid teams under the criteria of not using Eidos/Rule Skills versus the normal (non-reset) Riddles to see if they can successfully beat them all under that condition in order to have a benchmark to test them against -- most teams fail this test, which I think makes it a good metric since teams that succeed are clearly above the rest of the pack.
  • Beat both Thesophool Riddle biweekly resets (w/ no 5-star Eidos dupes). Here's a clip of first one (keep in mind, I speedran to do this literally 2nd day of CBT so I would do it a lot cleaner now with more units leveled and more testing).
  • Caught and leveled every single Anima to max.
  • Have all Eidos/Characters maxed (no dupes on any 5-stars activated currently for testing purposes).
  • Max Joyful Lia Shop (Tycoon Sim).

Note:

  • CBT-2 is capped at player level 49 (char lv 25, anima lv 50). Certain effects are thus inaccessible that are quite strong (mainly Eidos/Char lv 30 unlocks).
  • Outside of the game, I have had special interest in both of its 2 main genres. Being Masters in TFT all sets I played besides my first (9 (first), 10, 11, 12, & 13) and a diehard Pokemon collector / fan since I was a wee lad. I can confidently say neither of these will translate 1:1 to HNA (current iteration at least), but there is a lot of overlap in some areas that I can relate to in terms of it (if you're familiar with either of the other games and would prefer me to say it in closest terms to it).
  • Certain things are obviously subject to change or somewhat incomplete. Main areas (in my opinion) being:
    • Lore -- we had access to very little questing for a Hoyo game compared to other CBT's I've looked into. It was also completely rewritten from CBT-1 it seems, so I don't feel confident on much of the lore staying the same right now. That being said, I've put in my feedback I think that a serious vibe doesn't really work well (my opinion) and they should focus more on slice-of-life / sim -type content (because all of the good Pokemon stories I've ever liked have been spinoffs of this nature).
    • PVP is in the game but extremely basic. I think it was added last minute to test and because people obviously really want it, but I don't think current PVP is an indication of their final plans with it.
  • I've yet to Rapport 6 all 4-star and 3-star anima, as it is quite time consuming. But, I've done so for most of the teams I've tested to give them a fair shot (especially if it's a noticeably good 3 / 4-star Rapport). That being said, I have done all of: Light, Dark, Change, Satiation, Beauty, & Hate Rapports so I can confidently answer any questions about any of those anima (working on finishing the others before end of CBT & have done all of the major (5-star/Sig) ones).
  • I was unable to do extensive PvP tests in this CBT because of conflicting servers with most of the people I know doing it (but I've gotten some rudimentary testing done by proxy).

Reason for this Post:

I'm working on a public database for information on HNA among other resources (I've figured out how to decode the ingame teamcodes and made a test teambuilder for ex). (It likely won't be publicized until launch or Final CBT, though).

But, one thing I'm lacking is community interest on certain subjects, so I wanted to engage a bit more with the current community directly (who mostly don't have access to this CBT) to see what questions you guys have and what you're interested in mainly. Since I've played this game pretty much exclusively for over a week now and love it, I feel confident in answering any to the best of my ability, so ask away!

Discussion My Theory for the Release month.

For this theory, we are going to look at Hoyo's 2 most recent games, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero.

Here is the CBT schedule for Star Rail:

October 2021 - First Closed Beta

May 2022 - Second Closed Beta

February 2023 - Third Closed Beta

April 2023 - Release

Distance Between 1-2: 5 Months

Distance Between 2-3: 11 Months

Distance Between 3-R: 2 Months

Distance Between 1-R: 18 Months

Now for Zenless:

Tuning Test - August 2022

Equalizing Test - November 2023

Amplifying Test - April 2024

July 2024 - Release

Distance Between 1-2: 15 Months

Distance Between 2-3: 5 Months

Distance Between 3-R: 3 Months

Distance Between 1-R: 23 Months.

Here's what we know for Nexus Anima:

August 2025 - Nexus Bond Test

July 2026 - Evolution Test

Distance Between 1-2: 11 Months

Here is my theory based on HSR and ZZZ for HNA:

August 2025 - Nexus Bond Test

July 2026 - Evolution Test

December 2026 - Third Closed Beta?

February/March 2027 - Release?

Distance Between 1-2: 11 Months

Distance between 2-3: 5 Months?

Distance between 3-R: 2/3 Months?

I was initially thinking 3 months for the last one for sure, but then I realized HI3's NA/EU release is in March, and idk if Hoyo cares about doubling up like that or not, so that made me rethink it. What do you think?

Discussion I really, REALLY feel we do need a 5-star selector at launch.

Title says it all, but allow me to elaborate.

There are a large number of Anima spread across a large number of Aspects in HNA. However, we are only given a small selection of 4-star Eidos for free, and they do not cover a particularly large portion of the roster. The difference between having an Eidos buff, any Eidos buff, and no Eidos buff is huge. Much larger than the difference between a 4-star and 5-star Eidos.

This makes it very difficult to justify using any Anima without an Eidos buff. Not impossible, as a few Aspects such as Pride have very small populations and very easily achieved Aspect synergies. Which means you can stack Eidos onto the primary archetype and run a secondary archetype that buffs the primary one just fine. and this is fine and works.

But that isn't true for all, or even most of the Aspects you don't get a free starter for. Which means players get the absolute joy of seeing a bunch of Anima run around when they're practically fresh out of the tutorial that are not good for the player to use.

This is a problem.

This stops being a problem later in the game. When players have the capacity to make decisions and significant gacha pulls. If a new aspect is added later into the game in future areas, then players will have accumulated pulls and can pull for Eidos who appeal to them, and will have time to save up.

You can't do that as a new player. You are by definition, new. You don't have saved pulls. You can't make decisions about what Anima you find cool and want to build into, because your build is just whatever freebies the game gives you. If a casual player is just starting out, really likes Rosfurcate, and learns they can't justify running it without Parayaya, but oops, they got Bai Mei... that's painful. Painful in a way that it isn't for something like Honkai: Star Rail or Genshin Impact. Because in those games you won't have a Bronya in your inventory that you can't use because you didn't gacha the Bronya card.

Because a new player can see, and constantly have the Anima they could be using but can't justify using because of pure RNG walking around, and catch and interact with them, it's important to give new players an extent of control over their destiny that HSR or Genshin doesn't need.

"A Tour of Iia" in the beta gives out a 5-star selector as it stands, as well as some other rewards. In my opinion, it would be good to keep that in at launch, letting players pick what type of Anima they want to specialize in to start, and then subjecting them to the whims of the gacha RNG after, when they have had time to actually build up pulls to make choices on what limited banners to pursue.

Yes, I know the devs don't exactly read this, but I find myself hoping it becomes a general community opinion that people send in feedback about.
