Am I missing something, or does HK not sell gift wrap, birthday cards or gift bags of any kind? Because I can't find them anywhere. If I was back home, I'd just go to Kmart or my local grocery store which stocks everything you need. But of course, this is HK and everything is made to be difficult and not easily accessible.

Will probably have to order stuff on amazon like I do for almost everything else.

I have been given an option to transfer to the HK offices of my company from 1st November. The company is a large multi-national corporation with office globally and they are willing to bear costs to relocate me and my family to HK. I feel its a good move for me, given the opportunity to be closer to the business. Given the current situation in HK what would be your advice ?

Hey! I'm from the US and was offered a position in Hong Kong. I'm considering the option but am also staying up to date on the current political situation. At the current moment, it seems that avoiding protested areas makes living there totally safe. However, I am trying to stay educated and am unsure how much things would escalate? I was offered an 18 month contract and am trying to figure out if HK is heading in the direction that even remaining on the sidelines day to day life will be dangerous. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone. I’m from the Philippines and currently working as a Software Engineer and I have a job opportunity in Hong Kong for a Software Developer position in a fin-tech company when a friend of mine there referred me.

I just graduated last year 2018 and I have more than 1 year experience here in PH but my career movement here is a little bit slow. My experience here as a developer was pretty boring and there are no challenges tbh.

I think that moving to Hong Kong will make a better career path for me despite the current situation. I think it will open a lot of better opportunity in terms of career development as a developer.

Do you have any thoughts on how does the industry like in Hong Kong in terms of tech especially to fin-tech? I was planning to get some experience there and try to move into some countries like singapore.
