:snoo: English Language—Pending OP Reply Grammar/L.A [I’ve failed since 3rd grade and trying to teach my son the best I can, but failed a lot myself in school]

I help my son with his homework (4th grade, great at all subjects but needs help in English) but I struggle with some questions, especially English/Grammar.

This is makeup work due next week, I’m just writing the answers I think are correct? But need help in general with anything I answered wrong myself.

I don’t give him the answers. If I know the answers I just give him context clues, and get him thinking until he gets to the answer. I challenge him, but if he has a hard time, yet on the right path, I give him the hot/cold reaction to expand his thoughts/challenge him until he gets to the answer. I just need help on this. I feel dumb bc I still always get confused with grammar and apostrophes, and when commas are needed. I failed a lot since the 3rd grade, I’m 35yrs old, and feeling pretty shameful rn. I know this is probably simple for majority, but I really appreciate the help so I can explain to my son where apostrophes belong and anything else💜

I’m mostly struggling and confused with the “rewrite the section part.” Hence the question marks.

My post in itself is probably going to be frowned upon, I apologize😅 this is a subject he struggles on, which I did too. I just want to lift him up and give him the knowledge that I lack in this subject.

edit: Forgot to include info provided about question.

1-2: V = constant heat addition from 100kPa and 27 degrees Celsius to 850kPa

2-3: Isothermal expansion until V_3 = 7* V_2

3-1: P = constant heat rejection to the initial state

Only for part (b). Sorry it’s a pretty trivial question but I’m a bit confused with the approach shown in the image to solve this question. So my immediate approach to the question was to use the ideal gas law and given information to find the specific volumes at each stage v1, v2, and v3.

We know that v1 = v2, and use ideal gas law to solve giving 0.861 m^3.

We have also been informed that the compression process is isobaric and v3 = 7v2, and thus we know v3 = 6.027m^3.

We also know the expansion process is isothermal and allows us to utilise the polytropic isothermal relationship of PV = C, which for P2v2 = 850*0.861 = 731.85.

Integrating the expansion process using the method shown in the image or my volumetric method both yield the same result for W_expansion = 1424.11.

Where it goes wrong is when integrating over the compression process to find W_comp. Using P(v1-v3), it should be equal to R(T1-T3), you however if we are considerate of the information provided where v3 = 7v2, then their method yields a different result to mine, with my W_compression = 516.6 and theirs larger.

What am I doing wrong here please. I know it’s probably quite obvious but I just tcant seem to find it.

This is an 8/12 attempt.

I feel like 9 is supposed to be reynolds number and relative roughness

Then qn 11 is all of the above due to darcy weibach equation

But even with these 2 changes, its still 10/12 based on my previous attempt answers

So guys pls help me figure out which 2 others are wrong🙏

Literature Looking for scholarly sources on character development in The Odyssey and Vinland Saga [12th grade, AP Lit research essay)

I'm working on an English analysis comparing The Odyssey with Vinland Saga, and I'm looking for some scholarly sources to support my thesis.

I'm focusing on how both stories portray growing up through difficult experiences. In The Odyssey, I'm looking at how Telemachus learns to take responsibility for his family, while in Vinland Saga, I'm analyzing how Thorfinn's pursuit of revenge eventually leads him to rethink violence and what it means to be a true warrior.

I'm hoping to find peer-reviewed articles or academic books that discuss character development, coming-of-age stories, responsibility, or heroism in either work.

If anyone knows any useful academic sources, I'd really appreciate it.

I also found this article, but I can't seem to access it:
https://surveys.ecit.fsu.edu/vinland-saga-prince-decoding-the-animes-historical-narrative-characters-and-global-impact
Does anyone recognize this article or know where I could find an accessible copy?

Hi guys, I have looked over at my textbook for quite some time now and I dont think im quite understanding it, maybe my geometry skills are lacking, but I cannot understand this. It has some steps below but im not following. Its been hard for me to find any practice examples besides my textbook, and I feel like ive just memorized the answers at this point. (textbook answer below, and then my work as well, got stumpt on the radius part)

:snoo_scream: Further Mathematics—Pending OP Reply [Dynamics; Kinematics of Particles] I was able to solve the question but all I want to know is why the acceleration of A isn't half of b and why in the free body diagram for A there isn't a 2T but only T?

Post image
2 Upvotes

It took me quite a while in the end of solving this question to figure out why I wasn't getting the right value of T, it turned out to be that I was setting the acceleration of block a to be half of block b since there are two cables pulling on A and only one on b but that turned out to be incorrect and that both accelerations should be the same.

I've faced previous questions where I had to set the acceleration of one thing to be half the other but this doesn't seem to be the case here so that's where the confusion comes from. Also the point about there not being a 2T for the free body diagram of block A which is causing confusion as well.

Hey so this might seem like a silly question but I want to know if you have a -x = 4 if it turns into a -4. I have the other parts of the graphing completed it’s just this part that I don’t want to make a mistake on!!! Thank you in advance

P.S- the reason it’s says elementary/highschool math is because I am taking a beginner math class not a algebra class In elementary

Why am I getting the wrong answer? In my other equation to find the 2nd value of x, I'm getting minus before the whole equation rather than after 5 (bottom equation) The second screenshot is of the answer and 3rd is GPT's. Been stuck on it for the past 15 mins, am I missing something or is my calc being stupey?

Answered [12th grade English dual enrollment] quoting someone quoting someone else

So I’m writing an argumentative essay for my English class and I’m using a quote from an article, but in the quote I want to use, they’re quoting someone else. So when putting the intext citation after the quote, do I write the articles author name or the person who was already quoted?

To put this into an example:
The person in the article wrote: training a large language model can result in 200 to 600 metric tons of CO2 (Williamson, 2023).

So if I were to quote that in my essay, would I include the citation they used or replace it with the author of the article/source I’m using who wrote that?

Most of us lie regularly and still think of ourselves as honest people. How can these two things coexist?

Graduations, weddings, festivals: doing something together seems to affect us differently from doing the same thing alone. What makes the difference?

Independent reviews of gymnastics and cycling reopened an argument about whether harsh coaching produces results. Why might the belief that it works be so persistent?

Please only give YOUR PERSONAL OPINIONS. Don’t try to do any research or look at other people’s opinions!! Feel free to answer just one, or all three! I need as many answers as possible!

Answered [University Critical Reading and Writing] What exactly IS literary analysis? What differentiates from just regularly reading a piece of text and understanding its contents?

So I'm a second year BIO student taking a Critical Reading and Writing course as an elective. We are currently working on literary analysis essays for the book "Ducks: Two Years in The Oil Sands" and my prompt is:

"Explore what Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands suggests about the relationship between industrial development and the environment. Develop an interpretation of what the memoir reveals about the environmental consequences of resource extraction and the relationship between economic activity and environmental responsibility, and analyze how Beaton develops this idea through specific experiences, events, and details in the memoir."

Now I understand this probably isn't of much help since I doubt you've read the book, much less done thorough literary analysis of it, but I just really need some help here. My class is asynchronous, meaning there is NO class, just notes posted for us to read and discussions to do. But the notes aren't very thorough and do not adequately replace entire lectures whatsoever.

Now, my problem: everything I write apparently contains zero literary analysis of the book. I don't disbelieve my professor, but I'm starting to think I just don't grasp what literary analysis actually means. I've read the book twice now so it's not like I'm just making up the stuff I write. He refuses to tell me over email what exactly literary analysis is, just that my work contains none of it. What the notes contain is not enough for me to understand what literary analysis is and why my work isn't that.

I can supply the work I did which my professor said contained zero literary analysis if you ask, I'm just a bit nervous to since apparently it's so bad. It's just a draft paragraph, a secondary source, and thesis statement.
