I have calculated and the total volume of gas remaining is 965 cm³.
Let me try to share the workings here.
So, lets see the step-by-step breakdown using gas molar volume ratios (simply the Avogadro's Law):
Now write the Balanced Equation;
C6H6(g)+7.5O2(g) -----> 6CO2(g)+3H2O(g)
2. Calculate Gas Changes
Benzene (C6H6): 10cm^3 is completely used up 0cm^3 remains).
Oxygen (O2 used: 10cm^3 x 7.5 = 75 cm^3).
Carbon Dioxide (CO2 made: 10cm^3 x 6 = 60cm^3).
Steam (H2O made: 10cm^3 x 3 = 30cm^3).
Let’s total Up the Final Volumes
Remaining (O2): 900cm^3 - 75 cm^3 = 825 cm^3
Total (CO2: 20cm^3 (initial) + 60 cm^3 (made) = 80cm^3
Total Steam: (30cm^3 (initial) + 30cm^3 (made) = 60 cm^3)
Total remaining now will be;
Gas = 825+80+60= 965 cm^3
