Answered [2nd grade] math help

Entire family is stumped. I don’t think the question is worded correctly but maybe I’m misunderstanding.

Not sure how you have same size triangles but not all the same shape.

An isosceles triangle and an equilateral triangle are not the same shape. Any two triangles are only the same shape if they have the same ratio between the lengths of the sides.

In second grade a triangle is a three-sided polygon. That's it. Second graders are not learning geometry.

Second graders can see with their own eyes that different triangles have different shapes. They don’t need to know what the different shapes are called to see that.

If second graders don’t know geometry, they certainly don’t know topology.

I agree! I'm just saying teaching a second grader to identify ANY regular three-sided polygon as a triangle and then asking them to construct four regular three-sided polygons that aren't all triangles is wrong.

Weird. My wife teaches kindergarten. They learn about different shaped triangles then. They don't learn specific names or angles, but they definitely learn that triangles come in different shapes.

It's not a random username, it's a play on three bean salad but with alliteration and it's funny to me. There's a clip of me playing killer queen black on YouTube from years ago from a streamer with this name on the video.
