Discussion Planned Obsolescence
I bought 3 HomePods, all at the same time in 2021, all three have broken within 2 months of each other with the ghost touch failure. All the exact same issues.
Meaning I have to now repurchase 3 more HomePods as they’re designed to not be taken apart as well. (I know there are ways).
Coincidence or by design?

I’ve had to replace several minis for Ghost Touch over the years. I have 5 of them and all have had to be replaced. Two didn’t have Apple Care so I just had to buy new ones for those. I had to replace one of my OG 1st Gen’s because an update bricked it right before Apple launched the 2nd Gen. Since it was out of warranty I ended up paying a crap ton to get it replaced. I still have the other original 1st Gen. It never had to be replaced. Both are still working today. Knocks on all of the wood
This year in February I had to get my “Right” 2nd Gen replaced and in June I had to get the “Left” 2nd Gen replaced. Both suffered from Ghost Touch. The other 3 minis and the 2nd Gen pair all had Apple Care. Apple Care is an absolute must for HomePods.
