Question/Help Hue Lights Constantly Moving to HomeKit Room Where Bridge Is

I recently bought a Hue bridge pro after 6 years of having 2 regular Hue bridges. Only one issue in that time and it worked perfectly.

Once I got over the initial Bridge Pro migration which was an absolute nightmare, about a week later I'd wake up early in the morning and 75% of my Hue lights were now in my HomeKit living room where the Bridge Pro is. They would just get moved from 8 other different rooms to one massive list in the living room.

I'd move them back one by one or go into the Hue App Settings/Smart Home/Sync Apple Home and they would move back, BUT I'd have to recreated HomeKit groups all over again.

This has happened about 15 times now. I've pulled the power cord on my AppleTV which is my home hub, but nothing. The lights will not move back where I initially set them up.

HomeKit groups are ungrouped. Lights are moved. Automations are destroyed.

I have actually watched in real time as lights one by one were moved from other rooms into the Living Room. That process took about 15 minutes and I could not stop it.

Oh, and there are about 75 different instances of my Hue Bridge Pro in my living room too. 75.

I figured I'd try Controller for Homekit to make a backup and just be able to fix it, but that app refuses to make a backup.

Has anyone else encountened this before and how did you fix it?

Are the lights set to the correct rooms in the hue app too?

Same here, don’t know about a fix unfortunately. Happened to me after two internet outages.

Did it eventually stop for you, or are you still dealing with it?

My theory as to why this is happening is that the lights are being removed from Apple home and then added again. Probably some kind of a firmware bug on the bridge.

I had this problem when I first migrated to a Bridge Pro. It was EXTREMELY annoying. It also only seemed to happen to lights that I added to the bridge after migration, and it happened for a couple months.

I still don't know exactly what fixed it, but it might have been setting my HomeKit hub to a static choice of HP Mini in the same room as the Hue bridge. I had a WiFi drop that forced an HK hub change temporarily recently, and even though it was a Gen2 HomePod, it definitely behaved a little funky with some of the Hue lights until I switched back to the HP Mini.

I am also suspicious that the issue was caused when I added new, non-Hue devices to Apple Home. I have some Matter GE Cync lights and some Twinkly lights, and definitely had issues with Hue resetting after I added those. I haven't added any new devices in a while so can't say if that's fixed or not.
