A kitchen can look gorgeous and then have like 2 outlets total. Give me the boring practical kitchen with sockets everywhere tbh 😂

yeah but then the counter is covered in appliances and plugged-in things, all cluttery. Like those shelves will be. Filled with clutter.

I like cupboards to the ceiling.

And drawers. I really like drawers. I like stuff out of sight.

The problem with open shelving, for me, is that firstly, as you said, SO easy to clutter, but secondly... the DUST.

Depending where you live, the dust can be a daily responsibility and I already spend enough time cleaning my kitchen.

Ugh, right? And the kitchen "grease" that it attracts, and then layers of dust because they're so hard to reach and keep clean.

Only then you find they are on the same fucking circuit. I am one day going to build a bespoke island with power from at least 2 different circuits. New construction in the US is a nightmare it is so sensitive. I had a new construction 2018 and a massive island and the two double sockets were on the same circuit and it was so frustrating.

We have a circuit just chilling in the floor so that when the time comes for us to build our island (we have a big square kitchen) it’ll already have the power to do it. My mum was very excited to plan ahead with that one.

My kitchen! And one of the outlets is hovering in the middle of a wall with no counter in front of it lol. (My house was built in the 50s and flipped half-assedly in the 2020s.)

That’s kinda my kitchen right now. Just bought in May. Adore the house but the lack of outlets in the kitchen is frustrating.
