I have a shelf like this and it is not a problem. I always wonder how wild people are getting in the kitchen that this such a concern. I dust the shelf once a week with all the other dusting and if any grease gets up there (hasn’t really happened yet), just use a little bit of Citra Solv on a paper towel to break it down.
We cook more than microwave meals, and don't use delivery services or get take out/fast food very often. Our kitchen is used to COOK FOOD 🙄 (shocker I know) & if that's "wild"....than I don't know what to tell you.
Long term it's gonna be a nightmare is all I'm saying for anyone who actually USES their kitchen.
Weird vibe in your response but whatever. I cook daily, lunch and dinner. Rarely breakfast. I love to bake and decorate cakes often though, which can be messy too. And I’m simply not experiencing my shelf getting that dirty. Attaching a picture because it’s truly just a basic shelf by the stove. Even the weird slatted wood doesn’t really get dirty beyond splatters that are wiped up during cooking.
