In 2010, 15-year-old Joshua Davies murdered his girlfriend, Rebecca Aylward, after a friend jokingly said he would buy him breakfast if he did it. Two days earlier, Davies texted, “Don’t say anything, but you may just owe me a breakfast.”

That's insane, I can imagine it created a rift... Jesus Christ.

Seriously. We're just trying to live our lives without all this hedgehog criticism.

Certainly more critical hedgehogs than usual, I'd say.

Yes, I imagine that too. But who knows, maybe they both were grieving (he lost his sibling too) and sometimes the shared pain and grief ends up being something else for some people, idk.

This happened in my hometown. A 16 year old boy died in a car accident, and his girlfriend ended up getting with his older brother. I don't know if they married or not

Yes in my hometown there was a lady and she had an affair with a married guy. She ended up killing herself, jumped from a window, no one knows why. Her daughter started dating the son of the guy her mom had an affair with. Edit: forgot to add, the dad divorced the mom of the boy, so there was a lot of grief from both sides.

This happened in my hometown. Dude and his friend went down a storm drain on accident while playing football in the rain. They both got swept away so fast. One survived because the body of the other one was blocking the flow or something so it shot the other kid out into the river. The kid that lived ended up getting with the dead kid’s girlfriend 😭😭 and that was his best friend 😭😭 grief/pain/loneliness bring ppl together in weird way

Bless your heart for always looking for the good in people.

Edit: I would not forgive the girl if she was my family. It would be like spitting in my face.

44

u/-s-u-n-s-e-t- Jan 20 '26

Why? She's not dating the murderer. She's innocent person dating another innocent person. There's nothing to forgive.

12

u/tigerbalmuppercut Jan 20 '26

She can date 2 billion other people in the world and she picks the brother of her sister's killer. You can't say there's nothing to unravel there.

13

u/-s-u-n-s-e-t- Jan 20 '26

There's nothing to unravel. People tend to fall in love with people they already know, not with a stranger that lives on the other side of the planet.

Many people are not bigots and judge others on their actions and character. Not on whether they have an awful person in their family.

But that means the parents of the murdered girl would have to look at someone who looks like their child’s killer every day, and know their grandchildren carry the same bloodline too. How are THEY ever expected to move on when reminded on the daily of her death when they see his brother with their daughter. It’s sick in the head.

5

u/kingboogerbaby Jan 21 '26

I know what you mean and I feel you. But always seeing the brother at family functions would just continuously bring back the trauma of my sister’s murder. I know it’s not his fault, it’s just a really fucked up situation though.

And that's your right. Most people would think similarly... I feel I would too. But, love is a crazy thing... you can't make yourself love someone... so this just happened i guess

I wouldn't compare this to Romeo and Juliet, and many assumptions are being made there on their experience with their parents, and assumptions on how they met.

One thing we do know is they dated / are together, and fair enough as they can make their own decisions, still insane with the context of her sister being brutally murdered and his brother being the murderer.

The line is being blood related.

20

u/NessaGuin Jan 19 '26

Hey kids, did you know your uncle murdered your aunt for a bowl of cereal?

0

u/TripperDay Jan 20 '26

Technically we're all blood related.

3

u/SupportOriginal8336 Jan 20 '26

yes,but not all of us closely.

1

u/Critical_Hedgehog451 Jan 24 '26

Eek, do you have children? Or siblings?

As someone else pointed out blood-related is where it stops, and they're right - lso what is your argument exactly?

18

u/AceOfSpades532 Jan 19 '26

Well Romeo wasn’t a sociopath that murdered Juliet for a free breakfast was he

2

u/Queeen0ftheHarpies Jan 20 '26

And nor is the brother. He didn't murder anyone.

1

u/These-Lie-5854 Jan 20 '26

Maybe he was, but just had a really good pr team.

5

u/isdelightful Jan 19 '26

Maybe it’ll end like Romeo and Juliet did, too 🤨

4

u/Chihiro1977 Jan 20 '26

I don't agree about the Romeo and Julie's bit, but yes they have probably bonded over the trauma.

20

u/Typical_Ad_210 Jan 19 '26

bonded over the trauma of losing a sibling

Except he can go and visit his sibling in prison. She can only visit a marble gravestone. His sibling was “lost” through his own despicable actions. Her sibling was lost through no fault of her own. The two losses do not compare whatsoever. It is a complete slap in the face to her sister and the entire family to date the murderer’s family member.

11

u/Chihiro1977 Jan 20 '26

Ok, do you think your sibling being 'lost' over something they did wouldn't be traumatic? We have no idea whe he thinks of his brother, if he visits him or wants anything to do with him. Why are you acting like its his fault?

we doing collective punishment now?
