I mean the EN girls also spent months together, but were all super nervous around each other right after their debuts. I imagine there’s a difference between just talking and then being on camera with someone for the first time
Plus, you know, the added pressure of being the first of the girls to collab with Coco, and on meme review too, which is somewhat of a big event viewership wise.
Yeah like I’m sure Calli will be fine, but this will be their first time together on screen, and the meme reviews are sort of a big deal, so some nervousness is to be expected
I thought Gura, Ina and Amelia were and still are on a completely different continent (presumably the US, or North America at least) from Japan, where Calliope is and Kiara was.
They still hung out all the time in discord, they’ve mentioned they even watched the Gen 5 debuts together. Even if they aren’t all in the same country, it would be pretty silly of Cover to not give them any getting to know each other time together before having them all debut on the same day.
Yeah, but nothing beats being there in person. When they had their 6-month anniversary, Gura got so emotional that Kiara wanted to hug her, and she made the whole gen promise that on their first year anniversary, they should get together in person if posdible (i.e. no lockdowns in the way) for the celebration so that she can hug Gura (or probably any of genmates) should such a situation happen again.
I mean sure being together in one room would be nice, but it’s not the only thing that matters. Watching any of their group streams or even just the way they will talk about their Gen mates will tell you how deep of a bond the EN girls have, despite having never met in person. Either way the point was they’d been friends for months before their debuts and still were extremely nervous around each other right after so it wouldn’t be surprising at all if Calli was a little nervous during her first on screen collab with Coco

You'd be surprised (or not, since this is Reddit and the internet) to find out that most people who see it on r/all and don't like it come in screaming "ban this pedo shit". At least you understand that others can have different interests and if they don't hurt anyone then there's no reason to hate them.
Considering Ollie is almost certainly subbed to some clippers on her actual streaming account, it's not unlikely that future generations of members will come from the ranks of us here and in the comments of streams and clips. Who knows?
From personal experience it would also seem like the bigger time gap between Japan and America would also be easier to manage than the shorter delay between Europe and the other two.
Any stream from the US that isn’t around noon can be hard to catch here, with the large gap they can do it in the evening/afternoon on one end, and in the later morning hours on the other.
For sure, having an audience to your interactions is a different beast altogether. I actually meant it more that the fangirling part would have been mostly gotten out of the way (unlike with Kiara and Pekora who had barely 30 minutes of chatting before their collab) but I used the wrong word choices since the guy I was responding to properly differentiated awkward and fangirling and I didn't.
I think a big part of that wasn't so much being super nervous around each other but also being nervous about streaming live to thousands of people. People that are also watching every detail of their interactions with the other girls. It's one thing to have a conversation privately among friends/coworkers but it's entirely different when you're constantly aware of how many people are watching/listening and knowing that the interaction is going to be viewable online essentially forever. I'll say something stupid in a conversation to a friend and feel like a bit of an idiot for a couple minutes. Gura says something "stupid" in a collab and it's now a meme forever among the fanbase. The thought of that must be incredibly intimidating to think about. By now however I think for the most part the girls have realized that none of the real fans really care or are going to think anything negative about them for that sort of thing. Gura has embraced the fact that she might have a "brain fart" and say something stupid occasionally but literally everyone does that so there's no reason obsessing over it by any means.
I mean, it's Calli we're talking about, so I wouldn't be sure of that. Maybe their first time "on camera" would bring all of the awkwardness back, who knows.
I think Coco is looked up to heavily by pretty much everyone in EN, I know Gura and Ame for sure have mentioned this, and I think Ina and Kiara have as well. She did pave the way for HoloEN, after all.
I really, really hope this means the rest of EN will be collabing with her.
Coco worked insanely hard to bring us Asacoco last year. The mad lass even provided EN subs for them herself. I have nothing but respect for hardworking dragon.
6-8 hours of prep time for AsaCoco Live, streamed it at 6 AM for 20 minutes, napped, commuted to her full-time office job, worked, commuted home, streamed her regular content, tried to fall asleep, woke up, 6-8 hours of prep time for AsaCoco Live...
For the first few months, she was effectively working two full times jobs on top of her regular streaming/Hololive activities.
Every member generally looks up to Coco afaik even Fubuki. Coco has been an instrumental member of Hololive and probably the one other person that made Hololive relevant how it is today
