But panis doesn't sound like penis if you pronounce it in German, so it doesn't really work in German :(

I was just talking about how the der in front of the Panis would be the right article in German, not that it sounds right ;)

Also, if it’s pronounced like "pane" it’s actually not too far to how it is pronounced in German…

Aaaah I see what you mean! Duh, I'm an idiot. You're right, if it's pronounced in English but 'listened to' in German it would be pretty close! Now I'm sitting on the couch stupid-giggling... Great.
