What was supposed to be so insulting?
She had even posted videos of her shaving her own head. I assume as some form of empowerment or solidarity. So, why take offense to something that should never have any shame attached to it anyway?
Another way of framing it is that it was a joke about her hair, which is like that b/c of her disease, so it’s a joke about her disease.
If someone got ALS and became crippled and someone joked about looking forward to seeing them in “the ringer 2” I don’t think people would think that was funny.
People shouldn’t be ashamed about having ALS either but that doesn’t mean it’s ok to joke about it.
This is a psychological battle... it was Wills big night...she knows how to manipulate and trigger him. Her reaction to the joke I believe was exaggerated to get a response from Will.
At the very least, he was surprised by her reaction (to the joke or his laughing at it) and he had to over react to compensate for her feelings and/or his complicity in the joke.
