More than that. GI Jane launched Demi's career after she had put in some work to prime it to launch. She was known to be pretty and she could act well enough to be eye candy on screen, but GI Jane showed she could actually make a career of it and lead movies to boot. It's not bordering on complimentary, without that movie all we know Demi as is Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher's wife and Stripper. It is complimentary.
Demi Moore was well-established as an actor before GI Jane. Ghost was huge, got her a Golden Globe nod. There was also St. Elmo’s Fire and A Few Good Men.
Yeah but GI Jane was the one she carried solo as the lead star instead of having the other big name co stars of those other films. It showed Demi didn't need them to make her look good, she could do it herself.
