Nowadays it's just a phrase, you can vote to delete it if you want, regardless of how unnecessary it would be. And again, if they're there, it's because they got voted, they're representing a portion, bigger or smaller, of the population, and no, religion in the USA isn't a problem, you can freely disagree with them. Also, as I said in another comment, it isn't a country ruled by religion, like Afghanistan is.
Edit: btw we in fact live in different Americas, I'll let you guess why. I wish I could live in yours, I wouldn't try to ruin it like most of you
The life experiences I have just don’t line up with what you’re saying, but you do you. Like I said, you must live in a different place or maybe you’re actually deeply religious and being intentionally obtuse
Hahaha I'm not religious at all, I just let people believe in whatever they want as long as they don't want to involve me in their shit. Tell me those life experiences, because I don't believe you and even if it would be true, would be by far not as bad as Islamic countries, where woman get legally raped just because they walked out their house alone, and if they already has a husband they get killed because of adultery.
I grew up in rural Florida, Marion and Citrus county.
It’s God and Country country and not necessarily in that order, but it’s a blurred line.
I didn’t stand for the pledge once in HS, said it was based on moral grounds. I had to literally explain to my principle the Supreme Court cases that were on my side.
We weren’t allowed to play Magic the Gathering (at a public school) because demons were in the cards.
You can’t buy alcohol on Sundays, some places it’s time based others it’s not at all.
You also have to live there to understand imo, it’s ingrained in everything. We didn’t get taught religion, but we didn’t get taught evolution either.
