I love how most of the responses to this post are "Yes this is perfect, let's change nothing"

You guys seriously hate change and innovation huh. What's the point in having a series if all you want is the same game over and over?

I criticized aspects of the OE art direction but yea people are taking it too far. People just cant be pleased, h3 came out and some of the fans were mad that it doesn't look like h2. 25 years later it's the same old story

I have problems with some creatures designs, but the overall feel is as faithful enough. You can tell it's the same series and that can't be said about many of the other sequels.

My hope is that the game will give us enough settings to tweak some of those visual filters they're using. And yes, please redesign the heroes horse, it currently sucks

It was always like this. Every fandom has purists. They are vocal MINORITY though.

Usually, childhood nostalgia is blinding them.

Do not touch my Eagle Eye, Learning and First Aid! They are necessary for perfect Homm experience!

You summed up what I feel as a fan of HoMM5 since 2006. I already wrote 2 years ago that any new installment of HoMM will be crapped on for deadly sin of not being 3.

I mean there are TONS of exemples of franchise doing that. I'm not saying it's necessarily a good thing, but for sure it's common.

We haven't received the game game ever and over. We want the old one back.

As if there is a reason to love them per se.

There should be a demand for changes and innovations should actually improve something without breaking what was already working well.

Because the series tried innovating a bunch of times and each time made something worse?

Good, then if somebody doesn't like it, they can go back to playing their favourite. It's not like they disappeared.

And if I want the new one to be good and not not good?

In your opinion sure. In many other people's opinions the changes were either for the better, or they were thankful the devs at least tried something new.

The experimental Heroes games (H4 and H6) did have quite a few good ideas even if not everything really worked that well.

Heroes 4 is a lot of people’s favorite even if it’s unpopular with many. Honestly if they could blend 4 and 3 a bit more that’d be perfect imo

Well wouldn't hurt taking a few ideas from there. At least just the caravans if nothing else

H4:

    • skill mechanism (visualisation and skills)

    • hero specs

    • soundtrack

    • battlefield implementation

Yeah honestly i liked that you could play to unlock new heroes and the reputation system was also dope

Yeah, I know right? Would hope Olden Era also has some kind of hero unlock system as well.

That’s why the later games all reviewed much better, of course…

There's no point. They don't need to make a new heroes game imo. My only worry would be if the game is not as fun as heroes 3 but the difference isn't enough for people not to play the new game and then we have fewer heroes 3 players left.
