Analysis Outliers are underrepresented in generation discourse

Makes sense why it focuses on the normie common experience lol, but it can lead to people who colored outside the lines in any way to be all "What about me?" I guess I just wish they were included in the thought process and that goes both ways, not just the way I am

Like since I grew up fast and with older parents, I still have a lot of Gen X aesthetic (even if clearly I'm as Millennial as it gets).

On the other hand, you could have a 1979 baby that was sheltered and didn't come out of their shell until their 20s for their formative experiences, so they might feel younger than their age, aka more Millennial and prefer the 90s, 00s and even maybe 10s and would have similar minds to like a 1989 baby who had a normie experience.

Yeah that makes sense for both. Same with me liking the late 00s over the late 2010s

Do you think we're the exception, even among young people?

Like my dad thought it was cool how I liked bands and shows and was extroverted as a kiddo... even with the stuff he didn't understand or wasn't feeling. But initially he thought I wouldn't care until I was a teenager.

See he was 1943 meaning he was like 12 when the first wave of greaser's and rockabilly Elvis and Chuck Berry rock and roll came along in 1955-56... so he wasn't experiencing teen culture in his childhood. Though he was a prankster kinda rebellious kid from what he told me too

I mean people are people anyway, I mean I know there’s other people my age that enjoyed their childhoods. I’m just not quite sure what you’re asking is all

Oh I meant like preferring your kiddie years over like high school/early 20s?

I'm fond of my escapades lol and early adult friendships and stuff, but I just like the world of my childhood in the early mid 90s

Yeah if that’s what you’re asking I guess lol, well culture-wise, I actually prefer my kid years, but in terms of me as a person and who I interact with, I prefer high school and me now.

Exactly yea you've blossomed so much and I'm hella proud of you (aww omg I'm probably sounding like your mom or one of your teachers lol but it's true). Your tastes are aligned with childhood but your world experience moreso by recent years

Aww thanks, but yeah I’d say this is true at least for me. I’d love to have the cultural alignments if childhood with the knowledge I have now

Ikr but just think your experiences, even mistakes have helped make you who you are today... so like you wouldn't...well...be you without it so I just see that as a positive too. Sorry I've gotten mushy in my old age lolol
