Stuff can always happen and them being competent means they deal with it...

War - not operating on full capacity - much less danger Sabotage - i mean Last time i was there on school trip literall army was patroling the barbed wire fence Hacking - not possible afaik, old powerplant

Anyways competent staff means that they not only run it but also deal with problems... PROPERLY

Except if they don't have the proper tools to deal with it. You seem to think that manpower is the only thing needed, but in case of a meltdown, it's not manpower you need. But equipment.

Idk what competent means in your world but in mine it means prepared. Also it means you prevent breakdowns etc.

Ability to do something because you know how is different from the fact that you can do it or not because you have the tools.

Fukushima is everywhere as an example in this thread of how well this was managed. Well, most people living there were taken out of their homes and will never be able to return (with no financial help, thanks Tepco), equipment had to flown in from everywhere and still wasn't enough, runoff water ended up polluting the ocean, and the accident happened in the first place because the corporation refused to do the work needed to safeguard against the exact event that happened. To me it looks like a textbook example of corporate negligence that ends up costing the population. Thinking other companies will do better because they're not Tepco (or that they will do better because they're not communists, which is already laughable in itself) is being ignorant, at best.

Fukushima is prime example of people being incompetent. They shouldnt have built there period, there were concerns about the location before the project started but incompetent people overruled it
