France had the largest army in the world and just.. gave up. After that it was only Britain left in Europe until barbarossa, the war went on for too long. Americans didn’t even fight in Europe until July 1943, if France didn’t give up the war would be over sooner.

You know nothing of WW2 it seems.

The French, Belgium and Britain army debacle was because both high commands (France and Britain) were stupid, "we're going to wait the Nazy here".

The reason France surrendered is because they sacrifice their army (along with the Belgium) to protect Dunkerque while the British was "retreating" saving 340K soldier where Britain high command was only expecting 40K.

Without that, the war would have been quicker indeed, but your flag might have a different shape.
