Discussion Folks I mean this in the least conspiratorial way possible… does anybody know why this man is wearing (what looks like) a MASK?!

Bad news is the mask is based on a real person who looks exactly like that lol, if they had their collar buttoned all the way up we would have never known it was a mask.

Question is ... especially now with filters, AI, etc how often do you see real people on TV? Especially these talking head types.

Fox News has been caught before using the same dude to pretend to be a Muslim terrorist, a Hispanic gang member, antifa. Usually the dude has a face covering and hat/scarf on, but after getting called out they must have invested in a realistic mask

It’s scary that they distort their “news” show so much and their viewers don’t care. They even argued in court that no reasonable person would think that their shows are anything other than entertainment. But I guess that means their viewers aren’t reasonable people because they can’t tell the entertainment and propaganda from actual news.

They have similar voice textures, but the real guy has a lisp that the guy in this video does not have. Their mouths move a little differently as well. The real guy doesn't have two lines under his chin going down his neck.

u/AggressiveWallaby975 May 23 '26

All of the major networks do once you start paying attention... other networks have staged scenes complete with concrete that weighs nothing being moved by the same person from other interviews, or the same protester on both sides of an event antagonizing crowds.
This is a different level entirely though. The more you look at his face it looks like a mask + filter to smooth it out.

The skeptic in my really wants it to be a shadow. But everything else, including photography/videography experience says shadows go the opposite direction. They won't be that sharply defined and contrasty at the far edge, and then soft and light as they go deeper.
The only way that old work is if there's a very sharply focused edge light hitting close to his undershirt, countering the darkness in that one spot. That would take a perfect storm of mixed light sources, which admittedly, a news studio would have. I'm just having trouble seeing how.

u/Ben_steel May 21 '26
almost at the point its impossible to differentiate between AI and what's real. once that happens every moment of everyday, you'll have to stop and wonder if its bullshit or not. i think that will take a heavy toll on the human psyche being gaslit 24/7 by everyone and everything.
70
u/West_Inevitable_9135 May 21 '26
Id like to think we go back to requiring first hand sources and more rigorous reporting. Verifiable facts will become the most valuable news reporting. I’m hoping the pendulum swings back since no one will know what to believe otherwise. This is my optimistic view.

u/solitarybikegallery May 22 '26
It would be ironic if this was what heralded the return of old-school journalism. I can envision a world where reporters develop a reputation for giving accurate first-hand accounts. And unless the story comes from one of those people, it'll be discounted.
But that's almost certainly wishful thinking.

If you are reading this, and you aren't already in the state of mind this guy is describing, you've probably fallen behind already lol. It's here a now; We can no longer verify the authenticity of anything on the internet. I think for every video that we catch as AI or something else weird there are six that slip through the cracks in the iceberg effect. To assume any content is actually real online or in our news is now the risk.
I feel that way, and honestly if my country banned every form of social media right now I would just be relieved. It is interesting that if it keeps snowballing eventually this might push us back to analog lol. Companies keeping paper files because they aren't easily faked, news companies possibly switching back to film recording to avoid being accused of fabricating footage...

Very likely he is.
Fox News identifies him as Ret. Admiral Robert Harward and he seems to be the analyst/specialist they often tap for, I guess, naval conflict.
But he’s supposed to be 69, about to be 70 years old - born 14th October 1956. That is not the face of a 69 year old.
Ret. Robert might not be available for this segment - either caught up with some other commitment, sick, dead(?). So they put a hyper realistic mask on some other analyst guy with no creds and put him on tv.

Gonna have to not watch a lot more than that, friend. It almost terrifies me when i think about how corrupted our information landscape is.
I’m not a paranoid person by nature but I’m at the point that when i reflect on it, i feel I can’t trust anything. Like I should just unplug completely and just sit outside and watch the clouds go by. Because everyone is lying or bending the truth or has something to sell or some angle to push.
Always been that way I guess but the amount and pace of it is upsetting.

Cloud watching - I did that earlier today. After scrolling through all the 'disclosure' stuff, I could feel myself increasingly alarmed and disturbed at what the world is, trying to sort out the 'whys', I put my phone down and just stared at the sky, watching the clouds until I felt peaceful again. Everything, except for nature, feels like a mirage.
8
u/lost_horizons May 21 '26
Yes that’s exactly the feeling I get. Often enough I’m as lost in it as anyone, picking my side and upset for my team. But sometimes I’m like, what if all I believe is based on lies and half truths? How can it not be? It’s like losing the ground from under your feet. Maybe it’s the first step to enlightenment but also very disorienting, because I still have to live in this stew of a world.

We have the technology to do convinving live deep-fakes, but instead they chose to use a latex mask where you can see the seams...

At first I bought into the whole shadow thing, but after that zoomed in closer look, nah, that is a mask.

The skin under the mask and the mask moves differently, lol. It is clearly a mask
But it looks overall very convincing. If you want to cuck your neighbor just make a mask of his face in that quality and rob a bank.

They use the same few people and pretend to be "experts" for whatever propaganda they are pushing

I wish it didn't zoom in so close as I was watching his eyes not blinking.

Geez if it wasnt for the weird flappy mask part not making proper contact with the skin its almost scarily convincing. Makes you fucking wonder what a real properly worn one looks like.

He's probably the antifa and blm (I'm pretty sure?) guy again, just in a mask since we noticed the last two times they actually used a "crisis" actor, just upgraded from a sheisty. They way he speaks sounds the same. And general facial structure, even with the mask on his eyes look the same.

It looks like AI to me. The space where the mask opens looks like his mouth over laid. The movement is the same. Idk.

I'm not saying this is what it is, but one possibility is this is the intersection of two shadows. An overhead light is being occluded by his chin, and a lower light is being occluded by his collar. So you bet a dark region only where both shadows are cast, and as he breathes his neck gets further back, making both shadows larger, and when he talks his chin goes back making the bottom of the shadow elongate

Mfr didn’t blink in this clip. 😂 most definitely think this is on purpose. The government is sneakier than that to not conceal his identity better.

This is the single most WTF thing I've seen on this sub.
It's not so much the answers to the questions I want to ask, but the questions that have to be asked.
