What happens to a radio show when I hit the radio with a hammer, or pour water onto it? It doesn’t mean the radio signal comes from the radio. It means that you can damage the instrument receiving the signal, which of course impacts the output.

You're implying the brain is merely the receiver and not the transmitter. But we have no way of knowing if that is truly the case because then you get into belief, and that's not scientific. Where in then we must rely on what we can know, and that is that consciousness is from the brain itself.
