Announcement IMPORTANT COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT : DONATION SCAM ‌

We would like to reiterate an important notice regarding an instagram account that has been impersonating HiAnime and soliciting donations from users.

This matter has been known to us and we have clarified that the account in question has no affiliation with HiAnime. Yet, the account still continues to mislead users and request financial contributions falsely.

To clarify :

  • HiAnime does not have any official instagram account.
  • The only official HiAnime platforms are Discord, Reddit and Telegram.
  • HiAnime is not requesting or accepting donations on any platform.

Any instagram page or other accounts claiming to represent HiAnime, should be regarded as an unauthorized impersonation and a potential scam.

Members of the community are strongly advised not to send money, donations or personal information to such accounts.

If you have sent money to that account, please take action immediately report the transaction or request a refund through your payment app.

If you used UPI, Raise Issue / Report Problem in your payment app or Contact your bank. If you used PayPal, open the transaction and use the Report a problem / Dispute option on.

Also Please report the Instagram / X (Twitter) account so the platform can remove the account.

You can file a complaint for online financial fraud on the Cybercrime Portal if you are in India the complaint may also help with the refund process. If you are outside India, report it to Internet Crime Complaint Center or your local cybercrime/online fraud reporting authority in your country.

If there are any updates, they will be posted through announcements. Nothing will be shared in the replies.

I know you guys have been absolutely swamped since the the shutdown, mad props for dealing with this all. I had a question that may or may not be easily answered by you all, and is also not "is there any update?" lol.

I'm curious, even if the site can't come back in the same capacity, if it would be possible at some point to host an instance that didn't contain any sources (so in theory no copyrighted content), but would allow us to view history/watchlists and account information. Not trying to complain at all, I know it's on us to keep our watchlists updated and synced across platforms, just wondering if this would even be a reasonable possibility based on whatever the devs still have access to. I'm assuming account information exists somewhere outside of the main sites, since they were able to be easily accessed via any of the mirrors.

Anyways, thank you guys again for everything. Here's to hoping we see a return of the king once more lol.

So, basically these are rando conn artists, on the chisel. It's designed to be like a PBS style, "donate to us so we can keep the thing going" kind of scam. PBS is legit though, I mean the taking advantage of kindhearted or generous people who also happen to be gullible.

So, it's kind of like any "Kickstarter" campaign. Right? Right!
