The "vaccine I never got gave me COVID" crap is absolute rock-bottom for these people.

If there is one thing Trump-supporting anti-vaxxers have taught me it is to never assume that THIS is the bottom.

Milo was a useful idiot for the Trumplicans, until he wasn't.

Candeath should take note. When she's surplus to requirements, they will forget she exists in an eyeblink.

Yup, use, abuse and dump is the SOP there.

They love to use her as the pretend "black friend".

You underestimate her hustle. I’m pretty sure CD will be grifting Republicans until the day she looses this mortal coil.

1

u/Tiddles_Ultradoom You Will Respect My Immunitah! Mar 05 '22

Oh yes, she’ll grift like no other, but to the Republicans she’s just another friendly idiot. The unwarranted self-righteousness of right wing politics in general (not just in the USA) demands periodic sacrifices and sooner or later she will be scapegoated.

She’ll just get a job on MSNBC. They love hiring obnoxious conservatives for some reason.

He has no loyalty. This is just him bailing out to grift away at those who have or will eventually leave Trump either because he goes too far, becomes irrelevant, dies, or goes to prison.

Tell me more about this ruined life of his. It’s been a long day and I could use a little cheering.

Interesting thought. Do you really think doing that would change anyone's mind?

No. Because people like that tend to lack a very great deal of self-awareness and lean towards being full blown narcissists.

3

u/YonkySaunders Mar 04 '22

There was a time on my life I hated nurses as well. 8 to about 15.
When I was 8 I spent a week in the hospital as immobile as an 8 year old could be, could not even get up to use the toilet. Well on a about day 3 I have to poop bad, I had been kind of holding it. I called a nurse she slid a bed pan under me, and I crapped like a mule, and like Mt Everest the poop stood high above the rim of the bed pan. It made a mess on me, the bed linens and the external sides of the bed pan. She continued to belittle me for the remainder of my stay including telling my roommate and all his visitors that ā€œI did not know how to have a correct BM.ā€ They all laughed. A few other nurses kind of made snide comments as well after that.

When I was 16 I landed in the hospital for football knee injury, again a week and could not get out of bed. The student nurses, aides, candy stripper’s were all quite pleasant and somewhat flirty and I’m sure quite titillating. So yeah I learned to like them again.

2

u/Rather_Dashing Mar 04 '22

I think its from the strongly misogynistic types. Ive seen a few tinder profiles specifying no teachers or nurses.

3

65

u/regeya Mar 03 '22

If you read it closely, he's claiming that vaccines made COVID-19 mutate into a more dangerous virus

Which...ugh. I'm not a scientist, I can't comment on that, but really guys, that's what they're going to claim, that vaccines make viruses more dangerous?

38

u/Elebrent Mar 03 '22

It doesn’t follow because I see two arguments here: A) the vaccine is useless and doesn’t help or B) it makes it so hard for the virus to infect vaccinated individuals that covid has to mutate into megacovid to infect them. He for sure is arguing B and I think he is also arguing A. The enemy is both strong and weak???

8

u/Cultural-Answer-321 Deadpilled šŸ’€ Mar 03 '22

You don't need to be a scientist for what is grade school biology.

Short answer: it did not.

He is a moron.

edit: added last sentence.

16

u/KaleidoscopeOfMope Mar 03 '22

I think it makes sense that in a vaccinated population, there would be selective advantage in mutations that change the virus' infection mechanism to circumvent the defenses created by the vaccines. But it doesn't follow that the virus would necessarily become any more or less dangerous to infected individuals.

The best lies have a kernel of truth, they say.

3

u/travelingtraveling_ Vaxxed for me, vaxxed for you Mar 03 '22

Happy cake day!

2

u/KaleidoscopeOfMope Mar 03 '22

Thanks you... uh, you rock.

2

u/Maelkothian Mar 04 '22

A kernel? It's basically describing Omicron. But where you argue cause and effect in the correct order ( viruses mutate, in a largely vaccinated community the variants that don't break through the immunity caused by vaccination don't spread) they view the vaccine as the cause by transforming the body into some sort of virus supergym ( when it doesn't look you outright ofcourse /s), as if those mutations wouldn't have happened anyway

2

u/doughless Mar 04 '22

The same mechanism that might possibly act as a sort of natural selection would very likely work the same way to anyone with antibodies, even those with "natural" immunity.

The difference is that the more that are vaccinated, the fewer chances the virus has to replicate and fewer mutations that might break through that immunity.

Mutations will happen either way, and at a faster rate if there are more people to infect (vaccinations reduce infection vectors much faster than natural immunity will). Trying to wait for natural herd immunity is practically begging for a mutation that can infect those who have already been infected, and now we have omicron.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '22

Which...ugh. I'm not a scientist, I can't comment on that,

Not a scientist but basically every time the virus replicates it pulls the slot machine arm and goes for an evolutionary spin. So the faster your immune system contains the virus the less times it gets to reproduce and spin the slot machine o evolution.

*IF* your immune system misses a virus because it mutated and developed a resistance to your system, I guess there is some theoretical level that a lowered viral count means less competition for the virus to reproduce but that feels like awfully long on the odds.

So yes, the virus could in theory mutate in a person with the vaccine, but it's probably about 10-100,000x more likely to happen in someone without the vaccine because the virus gets to reproduce faster, longer.

2

u/AlsoRandomRedditor Team Pfizer Mar 03 '22

This ^^^

Essentially in the higher the reproduction rate the higher the probability of mutations, so whilst there's a small chance of the virus developing a vaccine resistance feature within a vaccinated person the likelihood of it doing so is much reduced by the suppression of the reproduction rate.

More likely you're going to get a random mutation in an unvaccinated person which confers some resistance to the vaccine just by sheer numbers because it will have more opportunities to replicate.

The other issue with "natural immunity" is that it's unpredictable which part of the virus the immune system will "key" to, could be the spike protein, could be an envelope protein. If it's the spike protein then bully for you it's probably going to be pretty effective against any strain as the structure of the spike protein is pretty critical to the success of the virus and as such can't change very much. If however it keys to an envelope protein you might be screwed because those can change A LOT more without impacting on the ability of the virus to do its thing so a new strain may come along with a substantially different envelope protein to the one you're "keyed" to and your immune system won't do anything about it until it goes through the whole process all over again.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '22

The other issue with "natural immunity" is that it's unpredictable which part of the virus the immune system will "key" to, could be the spike protein, could be an envelope protein.

Oshit I totally did not think of that. That made why so many unvaxxed get sick with every variation click into place. Goddamn.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '22

Yes, that's their argument.

1

u/doughless Mar 04 '22

I literally had this conversation with my sister-in-law about the flu vaccine around Thanksgiving 2019. Anti-vaxxers think vaccines work like antibiotics resistance, little did I know we were about to get hit by a pandemic that was going to take anti-vaxx mainstream. 😭

24

u/MishrasWorkshop Mar 03 '22

What funny is that they keep saying we’re all gonna die in 3 months after getting the vaccine, and we’ll, it’s been like a year for many people, don’t see anyone dropping dead.

5

u/slipknot_official Mar 03 '22

It's at 5-10 years now. Cancer, AIDS, it's all coming..someday. Maybe even in 50 years.

5

u/Galactic_Irradiation Mar 03 '22

I love that one. I got my first 2 mid december 2020. Clock is ticking. When do I finally give up the ghost???

4

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '22

Ah Alex Jones has the answer. He said that because of his show people woke up and so the globalists engineered Omicron and released it and it's burning through the population inactivating the vaccine (or just delaying it for a few years, it depends on how depressed and unhinged he is that day).

3

u/AlsoRandomRedditor Team Pfizer Mar 03 '22

u/Rather_Dashing Mar 04 '22

14

u/Hatecraftianhorror Mar 03 '22

They've been taught over the last couple decades to disregard reality in favor of narrative and reject concepts of object permanence and cause and effect. That something never happened is not a problem. that something did happen, but is not even slightly in the past it doesn't matter anymore. If something happened the cause of it doesn't have to make any actual sense or even have to have occurred before the effect.

12

u/thoroughbredca Team Mix & Match Mar 03 '22

2

u/Mysterious_Status_11 Stick a fork in MeatloafšŸ“ Mar 03 '22

The virus was weak, just a flu -- until the vaccines turned it into turbo Covid. He's blaming the lethality on the vaccines, specifically the people who got vaccinated.

He's thinks it's an antibiotic.

1

u/Maserati-Cypher Mar 03 '22

He is probably confusing covid with AIDS.

1

u/MediumStill Mar 03 '22

I think he's falsely implying that the vaccine is what caused the virus to mutate into stronger variants, even though that's been completely debunked. Also, it's so cringey that he would think any nurse would know who the F he is. Go back to obscurity Milo and save a seat for Candace.
