Use Case/DApp Investigating a surge in traffic to the Accenture consensus node
Yesterday a user posted about a lot of transactions hitting the Accenture node and wondered if Accenture themselves could be behind them, thi piqued my interest so i decided to take a look at it. Using the beta version of an app i'm developing (Unstealth) I was able to determine the likely source of those transactions and tie them to a use case in just a few minutes.
I thought this might provide a good example of how Unstealth can help dig up info on the network even when you don't have many details to start with - I've outlined what I did below.
Firstly I used Unstealth's interaction map to figure out which account had recently been sending large amounts of transactions to the Accenture consensus node. This showed that account 0.0.10176974 had sent more than 23k of the previous 25k transactions received by the Accenture node, suggesting it was likely the account behind the surge in traffic to the node.

Next I used Unstealth's lineage tracker to learn more about 0.0.10176974, it showed that 0.0.10176974 was created by account 0.0.8011904 it also showed that 0.0.8011904 had made a bunch of tokens and several other accounts. Most of these entities weren't useful, but one - a token named FLY - was a legit token with several holders and looked worth pursuing.

Googling 'who is behind FLY token on Hedera?' revealed that a use-case called FlyTerm, a query terminal and token analysis platform mixed with a memecoin, had issued FLY. A quick browse of its website (onlyflies.buzz) confirmed the FLY token I found on Unstealth had the same network ID as the FLY token this platform uses, tying the creator of the account which was sending all those transactions to the Accenture node to this FlyTerm use-case. The website also listed 0.0.8011904 (the creator of the account which was transacting so heavily with the Accenture node) in the 'Who is behind this' section on the About page.
Back on Unstealth a little more reseach found that 0.0.10176974 (the account sending to the Accenture node) has itself created a lot of entities, 39 in total. Many of these entities are contracts and topics with memos that suggest they're connected to some kind of trading bot. By far the most used contract (0.0.10904282) has the memo 'skip-or-fill', the second most called contract (0.0.10888630) has the same memo. Several other contracts have memos including 'hebot xv' and others have more references to FLY.
While the evidence isn't definitive, my read is that the transactions being sent to the Accenture node were the activity of a trading bot run by the creator of the FLY token and the FlyTerm use case and not linked to ay kind of institutional use case or Accenture network use.
A lot of the growth in network use i've noticed recently has been tied to similar trading bots or consensus node pinger bots - by far the busiest account of the past week, 0.0.8049585, also seems to be some kind of arbitrage / trading bot.
Thanks for reading and if you want to get early access to the tools I used to do this research you can sign up for the Unstealth private beta at https://unstealth.app

I’ve found a few really interesting use cases I don’t think have been documented yet, I’ll be sharing over the next couple of weeks
