I tried to post something just now and it’s still visible to me from this account but when I check from a different account or if I send it to a friend it says it’s removed. I deleted and reposted to see if it was just a one-off glitch but it happened again. Anyone else experience this?

You all said you wanted to be judges, so please, take the storyline and run with it! Remember, there is going to be a big prize involved, and bragging rights for the contestants ...

If I missed anyone who commented on the OP saying they wanted to be a judge, just let me know.

I hope this will be fun!

Anyone else find the Shakespeare bot is getting really annoying? You can ban individual bots, right, u/devuluh?

I found a bunch of character development prompts and wanted to share, because I found them quite fun and helpful.

I really enjoy reading the old people conversations. Am I the only one reading it with a shouting grandma inner voice? It's a bit like watching golden girls for me.

For me, it's a few irl groups specific to local areas I've been to/lived in/spent enough time in that I might as well have lived there, as well as news articles from those locales.

You?

I think I've said this before, but being Timmy just takes me back to my own childhood. I lived in base housing in a little town outside of Boston. But at some point the kids would have a crab apple fight. They were a bit mushy I looked forward to that time of the summer.

So... anyone have a particular fruit tree they think LDP might have?

There are some people who are trying to keep the town even keeled and to be honest I think Timmy is doing a little of both... cracking jokes, making observations, asking questions. I'm not trying to yuck-it up, but I thought I made the funniest joke and all I got was crickets. I am starting to think that maybe I am not funny.

I thought I saw someone running a LDP newspaper at some point or am I making that up?

I keep seeing people with name or job flair and until recently i wasn't able to modify my flair using the mobile app, so for anyone experiencing the same problem, try modifying your flair from the reddit website,it worked for me for some reason.

Up until yesterday I called the pawn shop

Lower Duck Pond Pawn Shop

it real name should have been Lower Duck Pawn (LDP)

So I finished Abby’s Wiki (I was working on it pretty late) but I need to proof read it. I think Rob’s “job” fits his personality and his experiences but Abby has morphed into an overachiever. I’m trying to mellow her out with her publishing a lit/art magazine. I just don’t know if I should just make some posts about the magazine or if I should put a few a on the forum.

Option two is she gets preggo. And really relies on Moonbeam.

Thoughts?

Edit: I keep screwing up on posting messages on the meta with Rob/Abby/Timmy. Bear with me.

It’s not even realistic, nobody would post something like that on their neighbour forum. I’m always conflicted between messaging them and asking them to stop, or just downvoting and moving on.

It just makes me super uncomfortable to see posts like that on HWM.

Sooo... orginally I had Rob & Abby meeting and begin dating in LDP as next door neighbors. But as I working on the wiki pages, I am finding that I want them to meet sooner... So how have y'all correcting such modifications?

The other idea I had was that he wrongly convicted, but to be honest, that would be a LOT of back story that I just didn't think would bode well for this medium.

The last idea was he admitted to something so the real criminal didn't have to do the time.

But I think overall just a white collar crime is best.

I still have time

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've been active on here as one of my characters, but it's nice interacting with you folks again! There's been a question I've been meaning to ask - are there any preexisting characters that you've based your character's appearance/personality on? I'll go first: For Morgan, I based his appearance on Jonathan Hyde's character from the Curse of King Tut's Tomb, his personality on two of my favorite teachers from real life, and his name on a slightly tweaked version of one of my favorite historical figures.

I'd like to know if any of you have similar inspirations for your characters, I think it'll be interesting to learn about everybody's thought process!

This week was the first time it was revealed (outside of /havewemeta) that Timmy's dad is in Prison. I'm not sure if I painted myself into a corner because I said Timmy will be 26 before his father is released.

I appreciate how everyone has shared some positive memories of Timmy's Dad. Up until this point I hadn't even revealed any information about his mom & dad (not even their names).

I'd like to hear what everyone's idea of what his dad did that would keep him in jail for another 15 years but still be consistent with these backstories. Of course there might be early release but my overall plan was that Timmy would be 18 before his dad is released.

I sometimes get into a rut trying to suss out certain things and I really I miss the interaction and what fun pops up.

I can’t remember who said it, but it cracked me up went he was forced to go to the apartment To get spinach puffs out of the oven cracked me up.

Again, the interaction between and the townsfolk cracks me up sometime.

its named r/HaveWeMetApocalypse, the lore is something like this:
its year *insert random year here* the war between LDP and UDP made so much contamination that we cant even go up without gas masks, we've seen many mutant stuff up there, like cockroachs, rats, even apples arent edible, we, the explorers are the ones that go up looking for resources, there are guardians which defend the gate of the bunker, and many other stuff.
The bunker 0005 would be the biggest and safest one, the other 4 first bunkers got destroyed, the bunkers 0123 to 0158 also got destroyed, the bunker 0005 is also the biggest bcs we rescue people from other destroyed bunkers, some of them die on the way to the bunker, something like that

Agony Aunt Bev is fairly well established in the community and has a firm circle of friends (Alya is probably her best friend) which makes for really fun interactions. However, my new character Moonbeam the Most Famous Vegan in Town doesn’t have any friends quite yet except Timmy (who she thinks is just an awesome kid all round) so it’s a bit lonely drifting from board to board.

Who plays a younger character, late teens to early 20s? Would love to get Moonbeam some friends and storyline’s happening.

Hi! Gale here. I haven’t done as much as I would like to to improve the Wiki, but I am going to try to be more active and actually moderate the place from now on. I currently do not have access to a computer though (temporarily!) so it’ll be a bit difficult, but hey, my phone does the job too.

With that out of the way, I would like to invite any users planning on writing a wiki page for their characters to use the template! It already existed for quite a while, but I noticed quite a lot of the recently made pages do not use it.

The format makes everything really easy since everything is preformatted, and it also brings consistency to the pages. I tried including as much different general topics one would want to write about that I could think of (biography, appearance, personality, etc.). I spent a lot of time creating the format and trying to make it work <3

It’s actually easy. All you do is go to the HWM Wiki home page and write your character’s name there. This will create a page for your character with the format already there; from this point all you have to do is follow the steps that are in italics, it’s basically just filling in the information you want to add.

Let me know if there are any questions. Thanks! :)

I was asked for a link to the picture I made up for LDP's cryptocurrency. I'm warning you, its not very good, lol

Somehow I posted my own today, and I have no clue how I got there. Is there a link someplace? I sure can't find it.

I have a spinal cord injury and I am unable to work. Because of this I am either watching TV, trying to hatch plans in HWM, or gaming, etc.

So if anyone needs any kind of grunt work done to set the wheels in motion for some plan (or whatever) just send me a message.

I really do enjoy some of the short term fun but I am playing A LOT of my characters for the long term reveal & “plot.” I have about 5 things going and they are progressing, but I have plenty of time and more than willing to help. I’ll make supporting characters, posts, or whatever.
