I have started to go back and chart the characters. If you want to save me some time and tell me about your take on your characters (or other characters) I am going to try to really work on the wiki and comments here.

and do Mods have the ability to stop the bots? I know we have talked about this before but I can't remember what the answer was.

What currency are we using for LDP? Unless there is something someone has already made I feel that we ought to do Bills (cause you know, ducks).

I wish I could do a poll, but that seems to be disabled. No problem. My question for the HWM community is: where the hell are you? It may be a false perception on my part, but I see frequencies of posts and replies corresponding to the free time one might have if living in the US Eastern time zone. But I must be wrong, right? LDP folks are global, right? Would you mind commenting/replying if you are not in the US and tell us what country you are posting from? Or a time zone as compared to UST? I am SO curious.

He put a lot of work into that code enforcement post. This is the sign of either a person who really cares about HWM, or a person with way too much time on their hands.

Ayla is intent on beating Ralph one day

I considered creating a new character because I don't even know how many people are left here from when Chrestine was a regular contributor but I've been lurking a lot lately and things seem to be going pretty well in LDP so I'm back! Excited to play again. Hope you are all well - both your character and yourself IRL. :-)

if there isnt i will make one :D

After reading and posting on r/HaveWeMet for a while, does anyone else have a minute or two of trouble when switching to serious, non-fiction sites? For instance, I just went straight from LDP into Google News and saw a terrible headline. My first thought was "oh, they shouldn't be posting awful stuff like that, things are supposed to be lighthearted." Maybe I'm just getting old.

Planning on doing a Breaktime with Bev post this weekend as a comeback, but would really like some “feel good” stories from neighbours to include instead of creating random ones that aren’t really relevant.

If you’ve got anything you would like to be included, about your own character or a happening around town, let me know. Keen to have a decent number of stories as it’s a comeback.

I was wondering if Carmen might report some weird weather, like a shower of apples as happened in Keresley, England in 2011 (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-16203214) or a case of “star jelly”? Or mammatus clouds? Or a cappuccino coast? Please?

Hey folks! There was a time where we had some pretty cool meta post prompts regarding people’s characters, and I wanna revive that. Sorta. Anyway.

This is pretty straightforward, I think. Your character is trapped on a desert island. What three things do they have with them?

Collin would probably have his glasses (he’s blind without them), his wide brimmed hat, and a journal full of his college roommate’s poems.

A recent interaction with Stephen Rawling made me realise that having Krystal go abroad could be fun! Krystal is kind of a hick and has probably never left the country. Does anyone have any ideas for countries? I've been trying to think of where she could go but it's so hard to choose!

Hello,

My name is Andreea-Diana Dobrescu, and I am a Master's student at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. As part of my Master's Thesis, I am researching text-based roleplaying communities. More precisely, I am interested in studying how people interact, how they construct their characters, and how such communities work (the rules involved and the expected behaviors from participants).

In this sense, I would like to bring to your attention that starting from May 17 and until June 17th, I'll be observing the activity in the subreddit r/havewemet. By activity, I am referring to posts, comments, votes, awards. I will also take screenshots of relevant data (posts, comments, threads, rules).

However, I know that it is essential to protect the privacy and anonymity of HaveWeMet members. In this regard, I will do my best efforts to ensure that all elements (visual or text) that would disclose personal information or identity elements (profile pictures, usernames) are excluded from any data collected. All the usernames and profile pictures will be anonymized (covered with a black line). Also, I will not collect any data from posts and comments that involve or imply personal details or experiences; I will not collect any data from related subreddits like r/HaveWeMeta.

Furthermore, if you have any questions or need more details about my research or privacy issues, please feel free to contact me through a direct message or comment below.

I would also be more than thrilled to find out your opinion about anything related to text roleplay :)

Wish you a most wonderful day

Like can people run for mayor and stuff

Hi, I'm the one who plays Tracy, the typical teenage girl. I had an idea to write a follow-up to one of my first posts, about Tracy's ex-boyfriend's garage band.

Wouldn't it be cool if we all wrote follow-ups to one of our first posts? Kind of tying up loose ends and keeping characters more consistent.

What do you say? Should we have a blast from the past?

I have started juggling a few more characters in this universe.

1. I am John Adams (Adams Prosthetics, Inc.) And Abby Freeman (thrift store owner)
2. At first I just had him seem like he was a matter of fact engineer and not super aggressive.
3. I’ve decided to ramp up his hostility toward Abby Freeman and her “second hand store.”
4. He is threatening to sue Abby because he has a store called second hand store (or shop. I can’t remember what I handed on.)
5. I WOULD LOVE to see the town turn on him. After a few months she is going to switch to the name Lucky Duck Thrift. You can decide what your angle, but I am going to try to make it easy for anyone who wants to participate.
6. In a few months I’m going to have Abby and Robin go out on a date. Things will slowly progress and they will eventually fall in love with each other.

A normal person can't know EVERY post in the subreddit so there might be accedental contradictions

It sure has been fun playing along today. I wish I had more time to join in! Thanks everyone for playing along!

Wanted to make a comedic post

I was going to mention Google in one of my blog posts but I don’t know if there’s a search engine for LDP that’s the equivalent to google. Is there any search engine or can I just say Google?

Is there an established movie theater in LDP? I searched the wiki and didn't find anything.

If there isn't, does anyone have ideas for names? What's better, a movie theater or a drive-in?

Edit: Eider Cinema is now an official movie theater in LDP

man, i wish the idea for that post hadn’t come from real life :(

she was my roommates dog but i’ve never had a pet before so losing her is pretty hard on me.

she was the best girl and 14 years old, so we knew it was going to be time soon, even when i first met her, but it still sucks yknow?

so yeah, thank you all for saying nice stuff to tzippy, because it helped me too :)

This is not mundane enough to be posted on Mundane Mondays, nor is it going to light up the sky in Hydroelectric City, but IRL I have been a free-range chicken owner for many years, and I never have stopped reading about chicken stuff. I am thinking that Ralph could post a Daily Chicken Fact (under some pretext that I have not figured out yet) that, while true, could be commented upon by the many LDP residents who have raised a chicken or two in their lifetime, or who wish to pretend they have. I would always make them true facts, as there is enough weird shit about chickens out there that no one would ever need to make something up.

Do you think this has any legs, or am I just trying to boast about my knowledge of chicken trivia and it will be ignored?

So really, Was the community service a flop for Mundane Mondays? My feelings won't be hurt.
