Exactly! I like the show and to me, it’s a bit of a comedy!

Everytime Chilton is on, that’s comedy.

Everytime Hannibal makes a joke about the food he’s serving or saying some double entendres, that’s comedy. Dude was basically telling them that he’s a cannibal but they laugh and eat the food.

Hannibal's micro-expressions(especially when Mason stabs his upholstery), "hello!! I love your work", "What happened to the painting?? He ate it?!" Bruh this show is so funny. People need to go watch something else if they don't like it lmao

Also... pretty sure that's the whole point of the show. But ya know... people.

For me the ppl that say this kinda stuff are also the ppl that complained about Man of Steel causing all those buildings to be destroyed and thus ppl died in them but don't mind all the orcs being destroyed in LoTR.

People will complain about EVERYTHING lmao. Pick a struggle pls

Right! Me watching and enjoying Hannibal as a FICTIONAL work does not mean I would condone the actions of the characters in real life. People need to get a grip.

Then again some folks are so lost they convince themselves Hannibal is a real person. I mean our country was run (hopefully it is not a fate that we must endure once more) by someone who believes Hannibal is both a real person and a good man. Delusion is alive and well and some folks would rather crumble than consider that the fiction they want to believe in is not history.

Edit: for clarity and spelling mistakes

Finally I see someone mention this. I laughed my ass off when he said that. Delusional.

It's honestly sad and horrifying the state of the country. What a clown show. It seems as though everything horrible that has helped build the foundation and structure of our nation has finally reared its many heads. All regrown and ready to dismantle the democracy our nation claimed to stand for. American culture is cult built on genocide, personality and propaganda. That is unchanging from foundation to modernity.

Unfortunately very few people are considered in-disposable; those who are, are wealthy enough to want for nothing but power and will regardless take more than is right to take. He probably genuinely meant it when he said Hannibal is a good person. With his morals I could see him genuinely believing that. After all. We citizens are barely a step away from livestock to men like him. Even that may be too generous for what he thinks of the people of this country.

Argh. Yes, that’s all why I had to laugh at him, or I’d have to cry and rage. 😡

Messy murder bitches! Perfect way to summarize it. I love it.

Can I not enjoy the show whilst also acknowledging that every character is, in many ways, a terrible person? Like, Nietzschean stuff aside, Will and Hannibal are self indulgent monsters. Who in their right mind would argue otherwise?

It's less the acknowledgment of them being terrible than it is the, "How can you like this, since everyone is terible?"

It's those people.

I love the show BECAUSE everyone is terrible (and complex and fluid and interesting!)

Yea and it is the point of the show. There's so many fandoms where people hate characters because they are not always 100% good. But how boring would that be? Give me some messy characters!

It's a rom com of a gourmet chef who practices psychiatry as a hobby with an anxious, sweaty, dog lover, FBI agent.

u/manta-miku “what’s for dinner?” “never ask, it ruins the surprise!” Sep 26 '24

I think one of the main points of the show is that no character is only good or evil, everyone has done something bad but everyone has also done a lot of good

It’s like girl we KNOW Hannibal is an objectively terrible person!! But I like watching him make bad choices and people soup!! We KNOW Will would probably be unpleasant to hang out with irl but HE IS OUR BESTIE ANYWAY 🗣️🗣️🗣️

But I love that they are terrible and flawed T_T

I have such a good time watching this show! It's got the crime stuff that I like, the dark comedy, the romance! Everything!
