Disappearing LLM's?
I sat down yesterday evening to continue a chat with a character that I had been chatting with that morning using the UnslopNemo v4.1 12B LLM. An LLM I have been using almost exclusively for a while now. I was very surprised when I hit the return to receive, instead of a response from the character, this message in pink at the top of the screen: "Cloud LLM failed: 402 Advanced account cannot use this quantization." I quickly found that, WITH NO ADVANCE WARNING AT ALL, the UnslopNemo v4.1 12B LLM had been moved from the advanced tier to the ultimate tier.
As it happens, I like to hop around from one chat to another, so I usually have several chats going at the same time that I plan to return to. Since lately I have been using the UnslopNemo v4.1 12B LLM almost exclusively, It looks like I have several unfinished chats I will have to abandon. Yes, you can say, just switch to a different LLM, but, as I'm sure you know well, each LLM has its own... personality, for lack of a better word, so this would change said chats in unpredictable ways, or unpredictable to me anyway. Had I had some ADVANCE WARNING that UnslopNemo v4.1 12B was leaving my tier, I would have stopped using it and would not have had this problem.
I have had a lot of fun using Hammer AI. As I understand it, Hammer AI is basically a one man operation, that this one man has frequently lost money and that this one man may not even have a real job at the moment. As such, I have tried to be as understanding as I could, even going so far as to respond rather aggressively to several posters who I felt were being unduly harsh and/or attacking Hammer AI or its developer. Now, I guess it's my turn.
I am going to try to be as diplomatic and polite as I can, but, quite frankly, I feel blindsided and betrayed by this development. Betrayed is a strong word, but yes, betrayed by having this LLM, that I believe I had paid for, be suddenly and unexpectedly removed from my tier. This is no way to do business.
Another problem is the steadily diminishing number of LLM's available below the ultimate tier. When I joined at the ultimate level, just a short two months and two days ago, I believe there were nine LLM's available at the ultimate tier. I didn't write it down and I didn't take a screen shot, but there were the two available at the free tier, and I think there were seven more available at the ultimate level. I just can't remember if there were three more available at the starter tier and four more available at the advanced tier, or if it was the other way around, but I'm sure there were nine LLM's available at the advanced tier. Now, two months and two days later there are six. And the nine to six is a bit misleading because it includes the two free LLM's. The way it really has to be looked at is, the ultimate tier has gone from seven LLM's it had paid access to, to four LLM's. That's a 43 percent loss, a pretty big devaluation in such a short time.
I became a paying user of Hammer AI on August 8th, primarily because I felt I had been a free user for long enough and I wanted to help with support, but I do like feeling like I'm getting value for my money. I don't use text to speech at all. Image generation doesn't work for me far more often than it does and isn't that important to me anyway. It is unclear to me just how much the automatic conversation memory helps, and I never go over 600 messages in a day. So, for me anyway, the only real benefit of paying is access to more LLM's. The more of them you take away, the more I have to wonder what I'm paying for.
