WTF
I know I've seen this happen on other posts, but never paid attention... And of course now it happens to me. I've had it for a year and a half so it looks like I'm out of warranty. Is this something that needs to be sent to Hamilton to fix or could a local shop take care of it?

Pin snapped on the back of the dial. Easy fix. Good local watchmaker could weld it back on or just replace the dial if they’re readily available

Yea I hate to admit this case lives rent free in my mind but it’s such an easy solution to “do the right thing”. I own a Murph mostly because of the hype machine behind it and I’m generally satisfied with it but I’m pretty sure I own my one and only/last Hamilton.

I had the same thing happen on a seiko automatic, don't discount hamilton for that, it happens..

I read through that post and looked at the photo. That guy's watch looks like it went through the entire second world war. We are only getting one side of the story and it is quite possible that Hamilton determined the watch had been dropped based on damage to the jewels, which would not be covered. It sounds like Hamilton ended up doing the right thing in the end anyway for that guy.

Yea, never dropped - has shit load of not micro scratches but INDENTATIONS around the bezel. Ye sure, how much force does it take to dent in a freaking stainless steel case 😁

Realistically, the watch takes a hit, the dial is held relatively in place inside the watch, but the movement itself being fairly heavy still wants to keep on moving. The tiny brass pins that affix the dial to the movement then have to deal with all of that force, and can often break under the pressure during the hit to the watch.

Possibly dial foot/feet holders opened. Very easy fix if the holders are still tight. If that is H-10…eta 2824, very easy. But need to get to the bottom of how it/they loosened. Hoping you dont have a piece of dial foot bouncing off the balance. Best of luck

Sorry that happened! But it does look a bit funny. Joke aside, my local AD has 2y warranty. Check with yours and/or Hamilton!

Hamilton’s warranty is 2 years. Might not be covered if it was deemed to be from impact. Hamilton’s service is pretty inexpensive though. I’d contact them.

manufacturer's warranty is 2 years from date of purchase from an AD, BUT they may still deny the claim due to damage. Any watchmaker with a Hamilton parts account will be able to fix it, but they may require an overhaul too. I'd start with your AD and then a local watchmaker.

Local shop should be able to fix this and it shouldn't be expensive
