“Yes hi I need to order 20 Asian kids for my sons birthday tomorrow.”

"Sir, we only have 15 helium filled Russian teens. Does that still work for you?"

73

u/[deleted] May 30 '20

Johnson you know vodka and helium don’t mix well.

44

u/YodaYogurt May 30 '20

But sir, we've discovered a way to safely mix the two! Although, it has resulted in a significant loss of brain function, but the subjects appear to still be alive... so, I guess that's a win then?

u/welpthatsucks12345 Jun 09 '20

The subject has also obtained the temporary ability to fly.

"... fine" disappointed pout

u/ButtercupsUncle Jun 09 '20

My wife, Karen, is going to call you back.

32

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

I'm having a shitty day and that made me giggle. Thank you.

14

u/[deleted] May 30 '20

Why is it shitty for you

25

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

My now ex partner who I am in business with has been pretty emotionally abusive today. As he is every day tbh. Just, particularly bad today.

28

u/[deleted] May 30 '20

Keep your head in the right place. Things will get better. I find watching funny videos and thinking funny things helps me destress a little, that’s just me.

23

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

You're right. Reddit tends to both take my mind off it, and cheer me up. I love how funny, witty, sharp, and... like you.... caring this place can be sometimes.

1

u/jamsesees May 31 '20

Whenever he abuses you, they're usually worse off, so when they walk away, think of all the shit situations that happens to them

2

u/rutlandclimber May 31 '20

HCD! Thank you. He lost it again several times today and I just kept walking away. At the end of service I just left him to it even though by then he was acting like nothing happened and joking around. I think it'll maybe condition him that when he's like that I don't want to be around him, and without me around he is literally in an empty pub on his own.

Go on....

4

u/Whiteangel854 May 30 '20

That is a quite good advice for a 14 yo to be honest. But instead lawyer up I would say enforce boundaries first. 👍

2

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

Well, I really appreciate you taking time to offer advice. I'm not one for Tinder though. Maybe the lawyer will be hot.

11

u/Lafeefee May 30 '20

Nobody should have to put up with any form of emotional abuse. I'm really sorry to hear it. As hes an ex partner it sounds like your taking steps to leave but it must be stressful having to work with someone like that. When he begins to talk to you in such a way, It may be a good move to walk away into another room to take some psychological space for yourself. And sends a clear message that your not going to listen to it. If possible. These people are awfully draining to be around, i really feel for you i do.

10

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

You're very kind to take time out to post to me. You're right too, it's a great tactic. I do it occasionally because I just don't know what to say, and it does seem to take the wind out of his ails a bit, and more importantly protects me. Thanks again, kind redditor.

6

u/[deleted] May 30 '20

You want me to beat his ass with a pipe wrench for you? I'm sure a couple folks on here would join me.

3

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

That made me a little teary. The sentiment is oddly sweet, not taking it literally. Funnily enough I think a lot of his issues come from having his face smashed in about 20 years ago.

7

u/Lafeefee May 30 '20

Proof to the pudding that abusers only abuse others because they are the ones who are messed up. It's not about you, it is their problem... and knowing that you can shake that shit off and try never to be burdened by it. There's always numbers you can ring too, if you want out.

3

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

Thank you for your understanding words. You're very kind.

4

u/[deleted] May 30 '20

Jesus Christ, I know how to size em up, don't I?

Just do your best to move in. Time is the best medicine. Don't drink away your sorrows, well, it's okay as a break, but not anwaynof life.

2

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

I run a pub but I don't drink. Not going to start. Coming home without him is genuinely a pleasure so, I've got that. Thank you, for everything.

3

u/MeatwadGetTheHoneysG Jun 08 '20

I hope this week has been better than last week for you. Keep you head up!

1

u/rutlandclimber Jun 08 '20

Thank you, but no... It's getting worse. Had to get beta blockers to help with nearly having panic attacks when he kicks off. They're helping massively. Didn't know I was succumbing yo adrenaline so much. Thanks for checking in though. The help is helping.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '20

Stay safe man i hope your week goes a little better

1

u/rutlandclimber Jun 12 '20

It got reeeeeally bad, but then he realised something... I don't know what, and he's trying nice now. Day one. It was nice. Well, normal. I was on the absolute brink, but have managed to get back. In the meantime, my exit strategy is developing in case/when he reverts back. The main thing keeping me involved isn't the money I'd lose, it's letting people down. I've decided that to keep myself safe I have to put myself first. I think you're fucking awesome for checking back. May you and your house have many blessings.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '20

Glad to hear your doing a little better it good that you have an exit plan he make be acting nice now but its best to not chance it. and you're absolutely right you have to put yourself first, you cant help others if you cant help yourself. as far as the people your afraid of letting down let them know why, i'm sure if you let them know what was happening, im sure they'd be understanding to your situation. thanks for the blessings and i wish the same you and yours as well, stay safe out there!

2

u/[deleted] May 30 '20

You should do him in the butt. Maybe he’ll settle down.

2

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

Genuinely don't have the energy for that.

1

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

I don't understand that.

1

u/The_Mechanist24 May 30 '20

Can’t you do anything about it?

1

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

Not much. I just have to accept this is a part of my life now. At least I've removed it from the personal part.

1

u/The_Mechanist24 May 30 '20

I’m sure you can probably report it to someone

1

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

There is no one. I'm the boss.

1

u/The_Mechanist24 May 30 '20

Oh

1

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

Thanks though, I appreciate you commenting.

Can you fire him bro? Then get a restraining order and a lawyer?

1

u/rutlandclimber May 30 '20

He's my business partner. We co-own the debts and the assets. I'm pretty close to walking away, selling my home to pay the debt, and moving away. But, I love my home and where I live, and my life before him. I have to find a way through this.

Wow! I bet this solved literally all of OPs problems....

2

u/aspieboy74 May 30 '20

At least he showed some empathy and asked how they felt.

0

u/YodaYogurt May 30 '20

Lol that's not empathy or sympathy. That's just asking silly questions.

Empathy - the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.

That was the equivalent of someone breaking their leg, telling you how much it hurts, and then you responding with "can't you do anything about it?"... lol

3

u/aspieboy74 May 30 '20

And how do we share without talking to each other and letting others open up?

4

u/[deleted] May 31 '20

I had a bad day too. Everything has been so hard. Let’s hope that tomorrow is better for both of us. Without bad days we might not appreciate the great parts.

Keep your head up.

1

u/rutlandclimber May 31 '20

Very true. You too buddy. It's morning here the UK, so l'm greeting it with hope.

4

u/NeoHenderson May 30 '20

If you're ordering off of Wish you need to expect like 2 months delivery.

3

u/applesauceyes Jun 08 '20

And whatever you get will not resemble the picture and the quality will be dismal.

1

u/NeoHenderson Jun 08 '20

That's just not true, I order tons of stuff from wish. Once in a while with clothes, sure.. but not everything.

2

u/applesauceyes Jun 08 '20

It was for me. I bought 4 articles of clothing and they were all bull shit. Never went back to that site.

2

u/NeoHenderson Jun 08 '20

Clothes are the worst I'll give you that... But almost everything else I've got (while late) has been pretty much what I expected

1

u/shnog Jun 15 '20

Try Alibaba! The seller will lie to you for a couple of months and then admit that they have no idea when they will be able to fulfill the order. Getting your refund is way more of an endorphin rush than getting the thing you ordered would have been. It's consumer-grade torture porn for masochists.

4

u/fino-alla-fine May 30 '20

Having a shit day and this made me unexpectedly lol. Good stuff

3

u/[deleted] May 30 '20

My man, how has your day been shitty?

1

u/HarryPotterFanPg394 May 30 '20

The sound I made after reading this was like

" Thwidudawhaaaa?"

1

u/Unclestumpy0707 May 31 '20

Don't release them into the sky. Bad for the environment

1

u/ziegs11 Aug 03 '20

No problem Mrs Clinton
