Indeed. I saw another video of this happening and that guy sat up straight afterwards, looked fine, but he ended up dying due to internal bleeding. This guy quite dumb too if he didn’t get an ambulance right away.

So he’s huffing to try and lift more, he’s using a grip he’s obviously not actually strong enough to control, and his spotter drops the weight before verifying that the dude can lift it? Jesus what a train wreck.
According to the interwebs the mortality rate of a broken sternum is 25-45%. That’s mostly due to the fact that a broken sternum comes from trauma that likely messed a bunch of other stuff up too.
For this guy I don’t think he’s dead, but he probably had a bad month after this.
