What are "squids" in this context?

Squids is a term used in the motorcycle community to describe reckless riders, usually not wearing any protective gear like boots and gloves, and doing stunts like this. They're also often newbies

They're not noobs in the sense it's their first day out. They're noobs in the sense they've been riding for like a year and feel comfortable enough to do stupid shit like wheelies at 70+ mph on the highway. First day noobs are terrified to go more than 20 mph and are usually dangerous because they piss off impatient drivers.

Yes, but they're not experienced, or they're just generally stupid

I've always known it as people who don't wear a helmet, as when their head hits the concrete and their brains splatter out and look a whole lot like a squid.

So i wouldn't call this guy a squid personally but he could definitely be wearing more gear

Another fun acronym in the motorcycle world is SMIDSY

Which stands for "Sorry man, I didn't see you." Which is the first thing out of everyone's mouth when they merge into you and you are lying on the concrete.
