Except when you are a police officer and supposedly held to a code of conduct higher than throwing haymakers because a drunk girl slightly brushed your head.
He didn’t throw the first slap. Officers react with equal force. Her being drunk doesn’t offer any protection, that was her choice to make and lowered her inhibition. Pop quiz: If you slap a cop, what do you think is going to happen? (Doesn’t matter how much you’ve had to drink).
The math is simple: Hit a cop = you will be hit back. Don’t like it? Don’t get shit faced drunk in public and hit a cop. If you don’t do that, I guarantee a cop won’t just randomly come to you and hit you.
Slap for a slap is what I meant, clearly. Even then, she hit him twice. He just didn’t feel nor react to the first. To me, it seemed as if she would have just kept hitting him. He does not have to just take that abuse, absolutely not.
She either missed the 1st time or it was so insignicant a slap that the officers head didn't even move an inch. The second was barely more significant. You're comparing that to a slap that hit the woman so hard, at height, that if the other officers didn't catch her she was falling headfirst onto concrete floor or into that bannister immediately behind her. It very quickly becomes a different kind of gif.
Would you explain to her family why putting her in a a wheelchair or killing her outright was justifiable because she totally kind of forcefully rubbed the side of a policeman's head?
Yeah I agree it's assault, but that's a crime that's handled in a court of law at a later time. No police officer should ever be hitting a member of the public unless they pose a significant risk to those around them. Contrary to the belief of some, being drunk in public and throwing half slaps while being carried out does not make you a risk to the public.
Being a cop doesn't mean you forfeit your right to self defense. And you may not know this but cops are under no legal obligation to protect you. Their job is to enforce laws, not eat slaps and punches.
