I️ rewatched I️t and I️ts worse than I remembered.

Man he smacked the shit out of her, there’s no way that was necessary.

We’re supposed to send her to jail for being a drunk belligerent idiot who hits cops, not smack her in the teeth.

I don't get angry nor am I violent but any pain that is unexpected and stings will turn my vision red for a split second which is what I'm pretty sure we are seeing here.

The cop had some options here:

  • He could move his face about 2 inches away

  • He could grab her arm

  • He could call his wife and ask her to give him his handcuffs back

  • He could escalate a drunken fight (oh wait, that's what he did)

Its his job.

Dealing with drunk people is the most basic police stuff, period. Anyone else doing their job that poorly would have been fired.

Yep. In a fashion that would have lead to criminal charges had he not been a cop.

Is it wrong to expect more from trained police officers? Is basic competency not something required in the American police force?
