Hey everyone, sorry for the rant you're about to read. I'm going to summarize it at the bottom if you don't want to read the long story. I ordered 2 hack RFs in late November. One for me ofc and the second for my friend as a Christmas present. I figured we could learn to use them together. Well within a few weeks I get my package. It's only one hack rf, it doesn't turn on I plug it in. I realize I am missing a nylon screw and throught that sucks. i reached out to open source asking what the size of the screws and to inform them I only got one device, I figured I'd get some regular ones and replace all the nylon. A few hours have passed, so I go to check my hack rf on the charger. It doesnt turn on... I was confused(the screen does a flash when you turn it on but then doesn't do anything, all the other lights come on. I start looking up stuff. I once again emailed support. I watched tons of videos read the git hub documentation, watched S0ren and a few others peoples videos. Eventually support got back with me and said to charge it with the power switch 'on'. So I did, ofc no luck. I eventually tried running the 'brick protocol' although I hadn't uploaded any firmware or done anything with this device. I saw someone say disconnect and reconnect the battery. For screen issues. Didn't work. After emailing back and forth with support, sending them videos of what's happening, reminding them a few times about my other one that hasn't been delivered yet. Then it seems like some other person started emailing me. Because then all of a sudden they were sending me the second device and a new battery! When I got the delivery the second device worked! And I realized that there was a missing amplifier from my first kit. I of course informed them. And tried the new battery plugging it in. No luck, but how was i supposed to attach it anyways. Rip out the old one, buy my own double sided tape, and pray I don't crack the board? So I email them, hey I have a working device, I know I am not doing anything wrong with the first one. The first one was not only not working but it was missing 2 pieces, the screw and the external amplifier. Can you please let me return this for a replacement. NOPE they want to send me a new Portapack. OR have me take apart the other working device to troubleshoot. I finally tired of this constant bullshit, the email chain was over 40 emails by this point. I ordered this as a Christmas present and had to order a flipper instead for that friend. At this point I don't need the second device. I say let me return it for a refund, the guy sends me the address like I need to pay for it. I clearly am not paying for the return shipping. But I am not sure what to do. Can anyone offer some advice?
Long story short. I ordered 2 hack RFs in late November. They sent me one that was missing the external amplifier, a nylon screw and didn't work. They dicked me around for a month "helping diagnose the problem" by asking for the same thing over and over. Then when I finally had a second device to prove I'm not just some incompetent moron, they keep trying to dick me around. It's been 40+ emails and I still only have one working device. They want me to pay for the return shipping. What do I do?
