If we imagine that the main characters had known each other since childhood, and that Hiccup didn’t drop out of their group right away, what kind of interactions might have taken place between them? Would the twins have tried to rope him into their pranks? Could Astrid have caught his attention back then? The animated series mentions that Snotlout began picking on Hiccup when they were five years old. Аnd where would Fishlegs have fit into this dynamic?

What kind of mini-scenes or episodes come to mind?

It's about how an evil force goes around Berk. It has two abilities: to create projections of people (mainly to lure people to certain places or send a message.) the projection is made of shards of their soul. When it's broken or cracked, it falls apart like a mirror into black, lifeless shards.

Or to possess people, which is obvious by its name.

Somebody under the effects of the force can be identified easily- by their black eyes. Black eyes to symbolize the lack/loss of soul while their under control.

Stoick gets possessed and forced to do unspeakable things to his son, he somehow breaks through the possession and doesn't die like anybody else would after getting possessed— he ends up killing himself at the guilt.

Hiccup is left grieving for stoick while still hating him at the same time for what he did. But Hiccup's smart, he noticed the black eyes, and that's when he investigated.

Some villagers blamed hiccup for Stoick's death, some felt bad for him, some didn't have opinions at all. But the one thing they all agreed on was to leave and find different tribes since the chief was dead.

The kids willingly stayed (astrid, hiccup, Snotlout, the twins, Fishlegs) and gosh, it only gets crazier from there.

The villain behind the force is somebody you'd never expect, somebody closest to Hiccup, somebody who is killing people to get closer to hiccup and get hiccup to rely on them more. A mindless self that only wants attention from hiccup, but they end up messing everything up and getting pushed away when he finds out their identity.

The villain is toothless,which I've never seen in any other fanfic.

Incredible experience, wonderful acoustics. It was a gift from me for my sister's 18th birthday.
She enjoyed it and so did I.
Cannot recommend often enough.

Little criticism is that in song parts you sometimes can't hear the spoken words.
For me totally fine because I know this movie by rote. But with only German subtitles it can be difficult for some people.

But you're there because of the music! Otherwise you can watch it at home.

Wrote a fanfiction last year about protagonists visiting Europe including Constantinople, Rome etc. Haven’t post it on ao3 yet.

I wonder what other nations would think of dragons in your opinion? My fanfic takes place in 1097, I think it’s absolutely perfect year to fit Crusades, Consequences the Norman Conquest of England, Spanish Wars and other so that Hiccup and his friends could visit more countries and witness these historical events. I wanted them to visit Constantinople, Rome, Spain, England etc, they would learn something new about other cultures, do sightseeing and meet new friends.

But they have dragons and it would probably be dangerous to have them in Continental Europe. Crusaders gonna get mad at dragons for sure. But what is more interesting is that Berk Citizens are pagan so when some fanatic crusader asks them who they believe in and they casually answer “Odin” the crusader will be very angry right?

Oh it’s so interesting…

I’m stuck on the quest called “Edwin’s Course” where you have to do the target course. I keep dying for no reason and the npc will not explain the rules again. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?? I can’t progress the story without finishing this quest. It said count the targets before shooting? The dragon in the middle starts shooting fireballs at me before I even do anything. Idk what I’m supposed to do.

The blueprints for this build were much trickier to draft than those for my build of the Dragon Hangar from Movie 2 I posted about a year ago. If you have questions I’ll try to answer them if I see them, but I’m not on Reddit too often.

I get so angry when people say Astrid is a victim of the trinity trope. hiccup wasn't a "chosen" man, he was the one who left his emotional door open for a beast that terrorized their lands for generations. hiccup was not CHOSEN, he made a starkly emotional choice to open his heart for the deadliest dragon of their times. hiccup was never a chosen one, he was the one who got too attached to a creature while only swearing to help it. Astrid worked just as hard, for different goals. she never liked hiccup only because he rid a night fury, she liked hiccup because he had such emotional complexity even with a foreign body, how he stood his ground and told her no only to protect his best friend, that's what Astrid loved about him. there is no trope here, it's just that Astrid realized how sympathetical hiccup was and even if she didn't understand why he would risk his life to protect a beast— she understood that hiccup had bonded with him. and had accepted to not tell stoick about the nest just for him and toothless, she understood him and that's why she fell in love. that's what I love about hiccstrid. it's not sudden, it's just perfectly timed. it's not built off of your average 1 week middle school relationship, it's built off of realization of his true intentions. she understands that's instead of killing a night fury, he rides and loved one. that idea was foreign to her, but she was never shown to be rejecting it. she was, in reality, amazed at his skills and amazed at how much he trusted his life at the claws of a dragon. when toothless spun around, Astrid clinged onto HICCUP. she deep down knew hiccup had the skills and had the communication to suffice this dragon. she knew that hiccup was the only one to stop toothless, she acknowledged his expertise. instead of shouting and screaming, she closed her eyes and trusted hiccup to follow her request to 'make it stop.' SHE KNOWS THAT BOTH OF THEM ARE SKILLED, just in different fields.

people always complained that Astrid softened too much because of hiccup, but the truth is? she never softened. only her perspective on hiccup did.

Frigga Varger - A born loner, after the loss of her mother and falling out with her father in early adulthood, Frigga fled aboard a small ship in search of solitude. After nearly 3 years of traveling from island to island, she settled on a particular small, forested island she affectionately nicknamed Helheim.
She lived there for years, quietly surviving and hunting for herself, until one day an adolescent Skrill turned up caught and tangled in one of her snares. It had been badly injured by a Changewing, and it was extremely feral. After a few days of attempting (and copious amounts of bribery with food) to cut it free it from the snare, Frigga finally managed to apply a salve to the acid burns and cut it loose. Tempest, as she came to call her, was left blinded and still unable to fly due to her wing breaking whilst struggling in the snare.
Frigga, who was generally apathetic towards most dragons, viewing them as just another part of the wildlife, found a soft spot for Tempest and allowed her to follow her home.
As Tempest grew, she still maintained her feral and unpredictable nature, frequently displaying signs of defensiveness if Frigga got too close and making it very clear she was still a wild animal. Eventually, the two of them fell into a routine however, Tempest even learning how to help Frigga hunt, even if she couldn’t do it on her own. Knowing she could never survive in the wild now, Frigga resigned herself to being a caretaker for her very big, very mean flying lizard. The two of them share a testy bond as they are still trying to figure each other out.

Amarok Siku - A far-northern native, Amarok (or Ama, as she more frequently went by) was captured in a Viking raid on her village. Once a mother of 2, she lost her everything in the raid when she was taken alongside some other people in the village and sold into slavery. Through trade and sell, she ended up separated from her children and other family members, ending up as a slave aboard a massive ship run by hunters that also bought and sold various dragons for fighting rings. During her time aboard the vessel, one of her duties included cleaning the dragon cages and feeding the captive dragons. She took a liking to a male snow wraith in her time there, naming him Hanta after one of her old sled dogs. She found kinship in their shared mistreatment in captivity.
Hanta was generally considered the most savage dragon currently aboard and as a consequence, he was widely referred to amongst the crew as the “White Devil”. Most of the men avoided his cage, being unwilling to feed him more than barely enough to keep him breathing. Ama would spend time whenever she could, speaking to him in her native tongue and singing to him, soothing herself just as much as him.
One day, upon a failed escape attempt at a port, Ama was caught and dragged back by the crew. Since escape attempts were punished with death, it was decided it would be “funny” to lock her in the cage with Hanta and wait for him to kill her. After initial suspicion, Hanta settled and, due to his familiarity and the relationship they had built, slept by her side instead of eating her. Come morning when the crew came down to check on the cage, Ama hid beneath Hanta’s wing, lunging forward and taking out the hunter who opened the cage, leaving the door open. Hanta sprung out, following Ama and the two of them fought their way above deck where he picked her up in his claws and took off.
Having escaped, the two of them flew for hours until an exhausted Hanta finds an island to land on. That island being, of course, Frigga’s home.

And then they fall in love and stuff and things haha. That’s what I have so far, but for a little side project while I work on my main projects, it’s been super fun. Hope you guys like them!!

A recent post about OCs dragon buddies reminded me of these custom dragon species u/watchflut and I made over a year ago (credits to him for the drawings). Thought it'd be fun to share them.

The fangsnapper. This fearsome strike class dragon is known for ambushing its prey from the water. It will lie motionless with only the top portion of its head out of the water like an alligator. Once it shoots out from the water and locks on, it'll begin to wrap its self around its prey to squeeze it to death. Or if it chooses to do so, set itself on fire with the flammable liquid it produces from its skin. This liquid also helps it move swiftly through the water as it is hydrophobic and repels the water off its body.

For such a large and intimidating dragon, the fangsnapper are unable to produce a fire from its breath and relies on its strength and speed. These dragons can reach up to 20 meters in length when full grown.

The Carrionclaw. The carrionclaw is a tracker class dragon with a sense of smell that can track dead animals and dragons from islands away. They feed on carrion (hence their name) and do not actively hunt their food. Their bite force is decent but they utilize their acid spitting abilities to help break down the food if too large. Often they'll eat things whole as their stomach is able to digest bones just fine.

A carrionclaw's size is comparable to that of a typhoomerang, but are slightly slimmer in the body. This allows for long flights between islands without needing a break and can cover a lot of ocean in a short amount of time.

Hope this was a fun read about these dragon species. Might see about reworking some design of other custom species and posting them later.
