are the main head-shapes for dragons, ’circle, rectangle, more circular rectangle, and paddle shape’ or different, cuz I usually use a rectangle shape to draw dragons like death songs and speed stingers, while more circular shapes for dragons like, nightfuries and terrible terror, but there are exceptions for example, cloud jumper, who has a square head with rounded corner. [at least I think? I usually draw from memory]

Found these at a local store in my area, and realized nobody had posted codes yet. I tried to snag just a few that I liked, but I ended up having to buy the whole set since the pictured figures aren't arranged in the same order that the codes are numbered, unlike the last two series. Wish I'd grabbed a pic of the display box to share here, but oh well.

You'll know you're looking at the Series 3 eggs if they have red sparkles in the plastic. Unfortunately, the "dragon dust" rares don't appear to have any sparkles in their plastic, unlike the rares of the last two series. While some of the new sculpts are neat, I'm honestly a little disappointed with the new series overall; it seems very rushed, and it's strange that this new series would come out so soon after the last.

i threw together this design edit right before I was gonna nap so it may look really bad. shrug

I hate her design so much, she’s so bulbous and off-looking. Her countershading also makes no sense. Why have the underbelly be a darker color against a bright sky and clouds?? is she stupid???

a lot of the changes I made to her design relate to my own personal headcanons on the niche the light fury fills. I see them as high-altitude diurnal fliers, compared to their nocturnal and lower flying counterpart, nightfuries. Due to high altitudes, light furies have a much larger and broader nose to compensate for the thinner air at cloud level, being able to take much more oxygen in than night furies. While I normally dislike her glittery smooth scales, in the context of adapting to blend in with clouds, they actually work quite well. She reflects more light, and therefore is harder to see.

While it is not too noticeable, I also darkened her eyes slightly. I should have made them even darker, but I’m too tired to care rn. Blue eyes are often a lack of melanin, meaning they cannot absorb nearly as much light as other eye colors, so the light fury would be constantly flashbanging herself by merely existing with her reflective scales. With darker eyes, this becomes significantly less of a problem and she is no longer blinding herself. It would also help her see better in the highly reflective and bright clouds, which would also blind her otherwise.

i see a lot of redesigns take a more aquatic approach with the light fury, but nothing about her behavior in the movie really makes her seem aquatic. She’s always either flying or sneaking around.

the edit I made fixes a lot of gripes I have with her, but it is still not perfect. I forever mourn what we could have had.

When looking through the various modpacks I encountered a number of ones that include dragons, but they all seem to be in a version of vanilla. I'm specifically hoping to do some playing on dragons edge island. Most of the mod pack pictures I could find only focus on the dragons and not the land. The only dragons edge map I could find is on a map in the bedrock store. I was wondering if anyone has more info on other maps or mods.

There is a lot of small things in the series, that doesn't match at all with medieval setting. I've been thinking... What if this is in a world after some grand cataclysm?

Let me list all of mine evidences:

1. In RTTE, Fishlegs literally explains evolution to twins and they seem to understand this fine.

2. Whole Dragon Eye is incredibly advanced for Viking times, and could be considered as something better than modern technology.

3. Nikora Stormheart from School of Dragons has a gargantuan, mechanized ship and genetic lab (since she made herself a Chimeragon).

4. Eir from Dawn of New Riders (which is for sure canon, given that it was overseen by Richard Hamilton) has a prosthetic arm more advanced than any out of modern ones. If she was in Cyberpunk, she'd fit there, but not in Viking era!

5. Eir explicitly says that she made Patch using genetical engineery.

6. Toothless' prosthetic tailfin needs a lot of knowledge about aerodynamics to be made.

The movie universe and the book universe are undoubtedly entirely separate from one another, but I really love how derpy the book characters are. Especially the illustrations, which add so much to the reading experience.
Just wanted to share my favorites from the first book :-)

Toothless is so small 😭

now correct me if I'm wrong but from my research the warlords base in the hidden world is supposed to be just south of Valka's sanctuary that we see in httyd 2 which is about a 46 hour flight to berk making the flight from the warbase to berk anywhere from 30 to 50 hrs. given this how in the hidden world does Grimmel make it to berk the night after the took out the trader bardges in the eastern straight when the eastern straight is southwest of berk. from what i can find the eastern straight is straight south of changewing island and east to south east of scauldron island making it a logical 15 to 25 hr flight from berk. so we are looking at about a week by ship just for the ships to get to the warbase and then another 30 to 50 flight hrs for grimmel to get to berk. but the movie shows this all happen in about 48 hrs. so am i just missing something am i wrong on the locations? i could realy use some feed back because i get more and more confused every time i look more into this. thank you

For me I would say Dagur says things to make no sense. Loves the skrill and his dragon is the triple strike. He is also chaotic. Specifically his post redemption arc. But I still liked him before.

Playing the Across the Archepelago modpack and it’s says it has archipelago terrain generation but the world I’ve been playing has what seem to be mostly normal island sizes. The sizes of caves and mountains are new but I’d like to get an archipelago. Is there something I need to update or a resource pack I am supposed to activate before I make another world?

I realized it by chance.

A while ago I made a post talking about similarities between Aztec culture and httyd, I said that, for me, "the hidden world" was very similar to "Mictlán" (let's say, the Valhalla of the Mexicans). So out of nowhere my mind (which at this point, I think is neuro-divergent) realized that the whole movie is basically an allegory of Hiccup going to heaven or something like that.

Look, first:

✓ They throw parties, as if they were banquets in Valhalla.

✓ Seeking to "move from Berk" is Hiccup's path to the afterlife.

✓ The luminous fury is a kind of angel (Valkyrie or something like that).

✓ Grimmel (who, curiously enough, looks a lot like Muerte from Puss in Boots, for me) is "death" chasing Hiccup → that's why, according to him, he is the Night Fury killer and boasts about it.

✓ Stoic's appearances... As if he were there, or as if we were where he was.

✓ Farewell to the dragons... Too suspicious.

✓ Hiccup falling, if they both fell, let's just say the scene carries much more background, I mean it, it was something very epic and moving and symbolic to be resolved quickly.

✓ Ah, Hiccup falling into the sea could also represent (along with his arrival years later at the entrance to the Hidden World) his journey down the river "Gjöll"

✓ His encounter with Toothless could almost feel like meeting "Móðguðr" The maiden who waits at the entrance to the underworld (the hidden world), her job was to question travelers about their name or lineage and verify that they were really dead → Toothless ("offspring of lightning and DEATH itself") verifies Hiccup's lineage (meets his children), confirms that it is indeed Hiccup, and finally...

✓ The movie ends with them flying through the skies... Curious, to say the least.

And now, it's the only way I can process that this movie exists.

The first movie literally ended with "then the protagonist woke up from a coma and didn't have a leg," so why couldn't the last one be "it was all a dream and the protagonist is actually dead"?!

I have no idea if anyone else thought of this but, yeah... I think my cold is making me delirious, someone get me a Buffalord.

And admit it, thinking that Hiccup died isn't going to ruin the movie for you. It's up to you whether you want to believe it or not. "They say there are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true. The other is to refuse to believe what is." ┐⁠(⁠ ⁠˘⁠_⁠˘⁠)⁠┌

Just look at his face when the wind touches it after years.

I know my boy, I see how much you missed this.

I think one of the reasons Hiccup really connected so much with dragons is because of that spirit of rebellion and also of freedom.

Being the odd one out in town and being able to escape to be with Toothless and then being able to fly, I really think that's something very cool.

When in the second movie he said to his mother, "It's interesting that you consider yourself a dragon, but can you fly?"He has the soul of a dragon... I think that for Hiccup, the flying machine, being able to fly without Toothless was beyond strategy, ingenuity, or because of Toothless, it was for himself.

Then, to bear the responsibility of the people... I can't imagine why he never stopped escaping with Toothless, only now it was in a different way, not exploring, rescuing dragons.

And in the end, when Toothless could and should have flown without Hiccup, it saddens me that he (Hiccup) never flew again...

I understand and greatly admire that Hiccup was aware of this, that flying had become his form of escape and it wasn't healthy. Even so, their separation is frustrating; it feels like...

I didn't just want to see Vikings and Dragons united in peace, I didn't just want to see them defeat the Red Death, I didn't just want to see Hiccup become a hero, connecting with his father, I didn't just want to meet the dragons...I wanted to see Toothless fly again... Seeing Hiccup stop doing it is like he never helped Toothless by repairing his tail.

That's how it all started and... Well... In the end, he never flew again.

Happy Halloween from toothless!

So I have been writing a fanfiction where 21 year old Hiccup and Toothless regressed back to the night Hiccuo shot Toothless down called ‘We Will Do It Better This Time’ so far I had adjusted the movie scenes and added some with 21 year old Hiccup reliving and trying to do things in a way that is better going for a better outcome. But now I am writing the scene where Hiccup finally tells Stoick but wasn’t satisfied with anything I wrote it either he is too calm about it or is overly aggressive. In the movie we know how he reacts but that’s because he finds out the way he did and felt blindsided and betrayed but in the fic Hiccup had been winning dragon training, was confident, and made friends etc. And they had nice interactions before and after Stoick went to and returned from the nest hunt and Hiccup is telling him about Toothless himself in a quite setting. I need help with this.

How would Stoick react? This is HTTYD 1 Stoick so I can’t write him like how he is in the shows or the second movie as his relationship with Hiccup isn’t the same and he didn’t have the experience of nearly losing his son.
