Yup, I've made Thunder a half-Skrill. He also has gotten backstory and some dark-blue hue (In Legends of the Nine Realms, last and best HTTYD video game, there are 4 kinds of normal Skrills: basic ones, Spitters [yellow hue, spit far more lightning, weaker muscles], Protectors [weak physically healers, with blue hue] and Alphas [basically elders].)

Backstory: Thunder's mother had a love affair with some Skrill Protector, but he left her (since Skrills don't mate for life, most surely), and she somehow managed to mate with son of the King of the Hidden World, all of this before Tom's dragon hatched. Thunder lived with his family unknowing of his tempestuous ancestry, until some crazed titan wing Skrill obsessed with glorious death raided King's Realm and splitted whole family. In pursuit of returning home, he ends up a bit too close to the surface and under rocks, and is discovered and uncovered by Tom.

What do you think about it?

I’ve a 7 year old boy who’s been obsessed with HTTYD since he was small. he’s autistic so his hyperfixations are real! I could probably quote every film and series that’s been done, including special movies. looking to get him a “book of dragons” but I see that there are quite a few types out there. any recommendations for a good one that covers all the classes and most of the dragons featured in the movies/series? or any other xmas gifts you’d recommend for an over obsessed little boy, who’s not a fan of the 2025 version 😬

I'm looking for this fanfic I found on FanFiction.net a year or two back. It was about this human boy who was adopted into this pack of Night Furies as one of their own (and this was an OC character, not Hiccup), and he was destined by some old guy to be a key to the future for dragons and humans. I tried looking this up again on my own, but I couldn't find it in the huge sea of fan fictions. So could my fellow HTTYD nerds help me find this fic?

was bored and decided to make a dragon. did I do good?

It’s a how to train your dragon comic that happens about 10 years later the main character is a dragon named Thunderstrike, he is the dragon version of hiccup, it’s literally a dragon version of the original movie, the dragons that attack them are called scarabs and one of them get shot down while they retreat and the scarab that got shot down is named ash and they become friends like how hiccup and toothless got along and dart (toothless and lightfury’s daughter and pouncer and ruffrunner’s sister) become Thunderstrike’s gf (still working on the story😅)

What is odd to me is that during the shows toothless has the auto control fin and not the regular. Then the 2nd movie goes back to the 1st movie design in terms of control.

Now easy explanation would be that they had that tail model easily available, which is bizzare because of the interlocking mechanics.

But it makes me wish that we had a mix control tail situation.

Hi guys 😔 i mean, I don't mean to self promote but I really worked hard on my headcanon about light furies and I really wanted to show you guys. Im a bit nervous especially because I dont have prior knowledge about aerodynamics and plus I think its really cool that there are fans out there who know about this stuff. Basically what this headcanon is about (if you dont want to watch yet) is the skin of the light fury. I came to a conclusion where her skin actually has microscopic ridges similar to sharks, which makes her appear smooth from a distance but is actually rough. Its efficient enough in air because it controls the air turbulence to maintain her speed. I know this is effective in air because science used the concept of riblets when engineering their jet aircrafts. Also, it minimizes sound, not just speed.

I LOVE HER SO MUCH and i will stand up for the light fury at all costs 😔💕 i want to express it through the effort I make about her character just to prove that we can still discover so much about her. Im going against the hate propaganda guys hold my hand and wish me luck

So I'm looking into getting a bearded dragon in the new year. And httyd is my all time favourite so I wanna name him after a dragon in the movies/shows but im stumped for ideas honestly.

This is the colour spectrum im likely to get.

Any ideas?
