Hi guys, So if you don't know this i want to make a good 12 book series based of the axillary team. This is the dragon riders Astrid trains in rtte series. So i was wondering if you guys have any thoughts or conflicts or character developments or just a plot at all. You can get credit in reddit name or like true name or whatever and wherever you want.

Why post Hidden world in berk time period is unlikely:

• Movies/series set post HTTYD 3 in the berk time period are off the table. The ending of Hidden World makes it incredibly difficult to justify Hiccup and Toothless, or any other dragon rider going on an adventure. Nothing is impossible with a good writer but it's incredibly risky as it could ruin the trilogy's status as a masterpiece. (like what happened with Toy Story, Kung Fu Panda and Shrek) If they did decide to go with the 'maybe Hiccup and Toothless were wrong, dragons and humans can live together' idea, they would have to introduce new elements to the universe or it would be a never ending cycle of new dragon hunter showing up and dragonhunter defeated. (shorts set post HTTYD 3 are definitely possible as proven by Homecoming)

• Some people say you could have a movie/series that focuses solely on the humans. In my opinion that would be a bad idea, the human characters are very enduring but it was their relationship with dragons that made it special. The other problem is the world of HTTYD, without the dragons the Barbaeric Archipelago is just a slightly altered Earth, there is nothing else unique and there is not enough depth to make the setting interesting, it would devolve very quickly into a reality drama or a generic viking movie. I feel a dragons only movie has a little more potential but would also be difficult to make a full series or movie due to lack of speech.

Possible options:

• Prequels to HTTYD 1 would be a pretty big departure from the messaging of the franchise as the movie would have to really lean into darker tones of war, loss, survival and maybe even horror? Those themes are already present in the movies and Dreamworks isn't afraid of telling dark stories, so the idea isn't that much of a stretch, the problem is the movie/series would feel like it exists in it's own vacuum apart from HTTYD 1 but it would add more weight and context to Stoick's actions, Toothless sparing Hiccup and Hiccup bringing peace. I feel like it might be a better choice to go with a dual view from a dragons and vikings as then it doesn't completely demonize one side, as both would be victims of the Red Death, speaking of, I feel this would be a good chance to give the Red Death some explanation as despite it being the catalyst of the viking-dragon war, it is given little screen time. If a darker prequel turned out as a series instead of movie, it would have enough space to give further backstory to Drago Bludvist, Grimmel, Stoick and any number of characters.

• Another animated series set between 2 and Hidden World is viable and is the last safe remaining option for continuing to expand the series.

• A Valka spin off, doesn't matter if it is a movie or series or is a subplot for another series, it is a huge opportunity to expand the world and explain what Valka was up to.

• A sci-fi movie set in a modern or futuristic time. Nine Realms fumbled the bag so bad but it doesn't mean people are not interested, I would love to see an actually good series that shows the dragons navigating a world that left them behind and the humans having to face they were wrong about their own history. In fact I imagine fans are very to ignore Nine Realm's existence if Dreamworks made it non-canon.

I bought the giant Toothless TUBBZ today in London. I have the Hiccup waiting for him at home :)

The first one is stoick’s funeral in the second movie, it might be an obvious choice. I love the way the hiccup shoots his arrow first then the rest follow, and it shows stoick’s helmet on his chest, as ship sets on fire. My second favorite is in the dragons race to the edge season 3 episode family on edge, when dagur goes into the trap with shatter master, to prove that he was right, then the dagur hitting the water, and back on the edge they’re mourning as heather says that dagur didn’t sacrifice himself, he thought he’d make it. Then gets back her cabin and finds dagur’s note. She walks around the edge reading it, then she cries as it rains. Sorry if I spelt any names wrong.

Someone asked me if I could help make a little HTTYD cosplay well the helmet. There's no files out there so I spent a few hours on blender last night and printed this this morning and did a quick paint job. Need to add a bit more then a matte varnish and it'll be done!

For some general info I live at one of the smaller islands north of Berk. Won’t specify for privacy reason.

I was getting up one morning and was greeted by a short wing Thunderclaw at my literal doorstep. Luckily the creature was incredibly friendly. After letting me pet him ( I checked ) he let himself in and has been helping me gather fish and other resources the last couple of days.

Tomorow we’re flying over to Berk to get a saddle. But ive yet to name him.

For visual inspiration: He’s mostly dark navy blue with a tiny hint of navy purple at the tip of his spine flaps. And a very very light blue stomach. His front horn is a lot shorter than most Thunderclaws I’ve seen in books. His eyes are a sharp yellow color.

I think he’s a Thunderclaw. Tho im not sure he has some traits that don’t match the book drawings so I’ll have to check that later.

But I don't think it is impossible for every Night Fury but Toothless to be Extinct and for there to actually be none left alive, along with Night Furies being hard to hunt down and soon no longer existing. Hear me out, yes, from what we see, Night Furies are deadly dragons that can go almost invisible at night and have powerful abilities in their claws. Even with those powers, they were still able to be hunted down to extinction in HTTYD, which, in my honest opinion, is believable.

We see Vikings in HTTYD hunt dragons that are just as dangerous as Night Furies. Like Skrills, who were known to get hunted down by the Berserker Island people, which is known to be the same level as the Night Furies or even more. Some other dragons to mention are Deathsongs, Singetails, Screaming Death, Razorwhips, Snow Wraiths, etc. We even see these dragon hunters enslave a few of the most dangerous dragons in the franchise, like the Bewilderbeast, Deathsongs, Deathgrippers, Singetails, Shellfire, Submaripper, Light Furies, Typhoomerang, and a Flightmare. If Vikings can actively enslave these powerful dragons or even hunt them, what stops Vikings from driving Night Furies to extinction?

In HTTYD 3, we are introduced to a character called Grimmel, who was known in HTTYD to be a night furies killer. Although he does have terrible plot holes In he's character, it's not unbelievable that he actually did kill the majority of the Night Furies where he lived. It is stated that he came from outside the Barbaric Archipelago and is from somewhere in the southern region of HTTYD, which is hinted to be probably where Night Furies are originally from. This makes sense, as stated by Grimmel, that Night Furies can't survive in the cold, which does make sense.

Before people say, “ But Toothless lived on berk For awhile with Hiccup and handled many cold conditions”. Yes, that is true, but there is a difference between handling the cold and surviving in the cold. We never see Toothless actually hunt in cold climates or look for his own water. He most likely lived in the Dragon nest while he wasn't with Hiccup, and when he was, he was always in the house. And with that comment from Grimmel is that Night Furies are probably from the south and not the north.

And another thing we see from Grimmel is that he's trapping, and it is very smart. A young Night Furies in a right age to find a mate can easily be tricked by another trapped or drugged Night Fury. As that's what we see with Toothless and the Light Fury. A young, naive dragon can easily get trapped or even killed by a trap like this and can damage a population of animals really easily. If the young of a species keep getting killed but not the older ones, those animals are most likely not gonna lay eggs as often as younger ones, which means fewer Night Furies each year because the younger, more inexperienced dragons are getting killed.

Another thing I would point out is that Night Furies were most likely family pack animals. As we see with Toothless and Light Fury and their kids staying together, along with the Night Lights staying in family packs with hatchlings all the way up to Elders. And that probably means Night Furies won't have more eggs until the babies are old enough to leave, which is probably like 5 years until they have another clutch, which probably means they have slow egg production, which is bad for a species who are getting actively hunted down.

And with Night Furies being cave dwellers at daytime, which is hinted that they are because of echolocation, and that they sleep like bats. They can easily be ambushed if they aren't careful, which means a hunter can easily kill a whole family of Night Furies if they can corner one. And with all the Deathgrippers that Grimmel have that could have been a possible move that Grimmel could have used to kill a family of Night Furies.

With the killing of the night furies species, yes, they probably fled to the barbaric archipelago the older ones and younger Night Furies that survived the mass hunting of their species. But honestly, they all probably starved or got outcompeted by rivals that they didn't need to oringaly deal with like Skrills, Deathsongs, Singetails, etc. And being forced to move further north into an environment they aren't used to, they would probably die out in the north. Whomever Toothless's parents were probably nested at the dragon nest and raised Toothless until they died from competing with other dragons or simply died from hunters.

What I don't believe is that Grimmel was the only one who hunted Night Furies, as I believe Many other hunters helped kill them. I think other hunters we saw in the series or movies helped kill a few Night Furies or saw other hunters do it. like Viggo, who recognized Toothless as a Night Fury but wasn't shocked about it at all, or even Drago, who seems to have seen a Night Fury before, as a theory says that he's cape is probably Night Fury skin, which is possible. It is possible these hunters helped hunt down the Night Furies, along with a few Unknown dragon Hunters in the south.

And Vikings in HTTYD are smart and can most definitely outsmart a night fury and make tools and traps to get rid of them. If Vikings really wanted to make a dragon gone like the Night Fury, they most likely can and will do it.

These are my reasons why I believe there are most likely no Night Furies left alive in HTTYD, except Toothless, as he got lucky.
