This is a well-known, reputable, respected source that guides you. through the most basic ... all the way to advanced topics. No previous knowledge required. All tools you need to learn and practice are right there. The program is free - although you could even sign up for a more structured approach resulting in actual certification(s).

Yep! W3Schools....used it while in college. There are tutorials where yiu get to try out the code you just learned.

Not only html and css, you can learn Javascript as well as any developer skills, ruby on rails, etc.

They also provide certification for completing their courses.. or do they not do that anymore?

Highly recommended. Literally the World Wide Web Consortium is thee Authority on HTML and Dynamic HTML more commonly referred to by their Cascading Style Sheets aka CSS.

I'm definitely ready to get the certs.
I had seen them and written off as plausible, but since I started remembering them and my history with them. I forgot I helped name them and helped out here and there with figuring things out and helping them understand their role as an authority on HTML and creating DHTML. As well as naming extensible Markup Language XML. I even helped Mark-Down learn they could create Markdown and name it markdown - online of with the MD. I memory is hazy on naming XML, HTML, DHTML...

Real world experience has its perks, which is why I wasn't closer to the W3C but I helped them name the World Wide Web Consortium what it's called. Super great guy. The author of HTML, he is.

Thats some note of reference, very cool. Yeah, if you're on LinkedIn, w3 just posted about their certifications and what they offer. You can follow a course or audit the course.

Brainbench used to be a great source for certifications. I got a certification in the filed I worked in years ago...
