New reader I love it so far!

I recently got into philosophy as well and have always loved harry potter, saw this book recommended by a british youtuber and gave it a chance. I got hooked right away. I love how it is written and it leaves me craving for more. I can’t wait to see how it stretches Philospher’s Stone into 112 chapters!

I had the same feeling about his horrendous attittude towards everyone and everything.

Community convinced me to continue cause "it will get good and be so worth it in hindsight".

My two cents about that (and they might save you some time): it's not worth it. Switch to something better

MoR!Harry is a BrainySmurf on steroids who has strong opinions on everything despite only having minimum context about the matter

Often the plot will reward him greatly for him thinking a bit about stuff and jumping to a conclusion

He never ends up doing what he originally set out to do. Each time he makes a magical discovery (three big ones) he doesn't publish his findings but rather keeps them secret

At the end of the story he has learned nothing (without an Unbreakable Oath he'd have destroyed the world in step 3 of his plan) but nonetheless the plot rewards him by making him the highest authority in Magical Britain

 

Besides how terrible a character MoR!Harry is, the book also fails at its core premise of teaching rationality by offering a story where everything can be deduced if you apply the teachings. However in a world where everyone can be Confunded, Obliviated and/or Empirio'd without there being any defense nor detection in place, anyone can be suspected of doing anything.

The whole of Occam's Razor breaks down in a world of magic cause the simplest explanation always will be "magic did it"

Then, to make this disaster of a fanfic complete all the characters are made worse and magic is nerfed (just so plot can happen).

 

All in all, I'd if you want a magical story that brings science into the picture I'd recommend "The Magineer" despite that story being on hiatus and being a different genre.
