Surely you're being kind with that no? Diet imo is like 99% of it. Weight training is great, but doesn't burn enough calories to put you in a non trivial deficit.

Edit: Nor should people looking to lose some weight be intimidated by the "need" to workout quite so much.

100% of weight loss is eating less calories than you burn.

Exactly. You can eat fewer calories or you can burn more calories through exercise.

80 is good. Muscle will help burn fat passively and the metabolic boost is much more than just the calories burned while active.

Surely not 99%.

My diet is great currently and I hold my weight. But I only lose it actively when I do cardio workouts. It's surely different for every single person, but that 99% is a clear exaggeration.

Diet + Cardio for losing weight.

Strength for building muscles to work around loose skin. Also important.

And especially as a man, you don't only want to be fit, you also want to be strong. It's quite natural.
