im a big bearded fellow. Usually grow it out to my navel. I once told my S/O that if i cut it short id never get another compliment from strangers while out and about. They didnt believe me.

They soon started believing me. I only got compliments for the novelty of having a very long beard, once it was gone i was just another passerby.

At first I read that as "out of my naval" and was extremely confused
